Great location near all amenities

This little cottage in in a great location in the village and has many pubs and restaurants within a few minutes walk. Because of its location car parking is not easy residents get very protective of their perceived space and put cones and no parking signs outside; in the summer months parking must be even worse. The property is an old cottage and is a little tired; it’s functional but has no finesse. The stairs to the bedrooms are difficult to negotiate and would not be suitable for the less mobile.Overall it’s OK but I wouldn’t go back.

The property is over 200years old and the staircase is typical for a building of this age in the area. We do hope that overall, you enjoyed exploring the Cotswolds!

Lovely cosy cottage!

Had a wonderful stay! Although close to the main area it was very very quiet. On some rainy days I sat in and read a book . My favorite was sitting in the kitchen with the half door open listening to the birds and cows. Very comfortable and clean.

Perfect getaway

This gem of a location was absolutely perfect to enjoy the Cotswolds. Even if you didn’t have a vehicle this is a great place to stay. Lots of walkable areas. Pubs 3 min walk away (our fav was Kingsbridge). Tons of quaint little shops. The cottage is set up for a lovely stay.

Wonderful Cottage!

In a very good location, and very cute! Parking could be tricky if you didn’t get lucky, but not a problem on our trip. Definitely on the smaller side, but for a couple of close friends it was really lovely!

Very hard to find cottage. Only one with no sign on house

It took us almost an hour to find the house. There was no sign saying “Lavender House.” We called the management number given and no one answered. Finally, we saw the only cottage without a name and tried the lockbox and it worked. There was a strong urine smell on the couch, and no napkins or paper towels or hand soap for the shower. On a positive note, the house was in a great location and a cute outside sitting area. Bourton on the Water is lovely!

Thank you Sherri for your review. We are delighted you found the property to be in a great location. We do provide all guests with directions to make finding the property as easy as possible. The property is called Lavender Cottage and not Lavender House. You are provided with hand and bath towels and tea towels. Toiletries are not advertised as being available for guests to use during their stay. We were disappointed to learn that you did not report anything wrong with the couch during your stay, the property manager is on call to help with any such issues should they arise during your stay. We do hope that overall you enjoyed exploring the Cotswolds!

Outstanding location in Bourton

Bourton-on-the-Water is an idyllic Cotswolds village and this property is ideally situated to enjoy it. Although very close to all village amenities, it is quiet and private. The living room is quaint as shown in the posting and both the kitchen and bathroom are efficient. The stairs and parking can be a challenge as is noted in the listing. It’s nice when there are no surprises and we were able to get overnight parking for each night we stayed. We would definitely stay there again.
