Delightful Cotswold Cottage.
Publié le 3 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayHighly recommend this lovely little stone cottage. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Our host, Emily, was very helpful with info about travelling to and from the town and responded to enquiries quickly.
Winchcombe is a great place from which to hike and there was lots of info in the cottage about local trails.

Lovely traditional cottage

Unfortunately only a couple of places to eat at the time we were there as the corner cupboard was closed and so was the old bakery and plaisterers arms didn’t have a cook. lol cal Indian was amazing. Check in process was easy and hosts on other end of the phone if you needed anything

Hi Val, agree the weather has been so disappointing, wish we could control that. Glad you enjoyed the Indian, we love it there too, fab food and always lovely service. We are reliably informed the corner cupboard reopens this Friday with a new landlord. Hope you made it to the White Hart and the Lion Inn, both locals that we enjoy.
I’m still trying to find the name of the rose in the garden you liked and I’ll send a message when I find it …

Fantastic little cottage in great location!
Publié le 5 août 2024 sur HomeAwayLovely little cottage with parking. Little garden at the back is gorgeous. Great location in lovely Winchcombe. We were attending an event at Prescott hillclimb all week so it was very handy. The owner was so helpful and always on hand. Will be booking again.

Great location, let down by cleanliness
Publié le 2 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayGreat location with many walks from the doorstep, also close to shops and restaurants. Cottage let down by the cleanliness and the smell of dogs. The downstairs needs a deep clean with all the soft furnishings needing a wash, the bathroom white wear was clean however there was thick dust on the skirting boards, cobwebs and mould on the ceiling. The garden was enclosed and a great bonus but the photos were from years ago as the garden was overgrown, lots of weeds with no maintenance. We had to sweep the patio, scrub the patio table and chairs and clean the inside of the bbq from cobwebs before we could use it. The cottage itself is a lovely stone cottage and wouldn’t take much to make this it outstanding with tidying the garden, a deep clean of everything with redecorating the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable, lots of useful information especially for all the walks locally, easy check in and communication from the owner was great, kitchen was compact but had everything you needed. It is a bonus you can bring your dog (we also had a dog with us) and this cottage is obviously used by lots of dog owners. However this is apparent with the doggy smell as soon as you open the door. If you allow dogs to stay in the cottage this requires a deep clean after each visit. From the stains on the sofas, chairs and the smell of the cushions and blankets, dogs have used all of these. Such a shame as the cottage itself is lovely.

I am so sorry you did not find the cottage as you would expect. As you will see from all our other reviews, we have never had a low star rating or complaint before or any negative on cleanliness, so we are sorry and so dissapointed that this was your experience.
It has been an extremely busy season so far and we now have a 3 day window between bookings and personally I have investigated all your comments.
The garden has been fully maintained and the bathroom is being redecorated this week too. It had not been reported the ventilation fan wasnt working so mildew had started to appear on the ceiling, fan has now been replaced and all rectified now.
As you can imagine cobwebs and dust are a full time job in an old stone cottage and agree this should have been checked more throughly before your arrival.
We also own dogs and travel with them regularly and I am very concious of any doggy smell, we do ask owners to abide by the house rules of no dogs upstairs or on the furniture. If we find they have been on furniture they are shampooed/cleaned. Again, this isn't a comment we have ever recieved before, so apologies you found it to smell doggy.
I am glad you enjoyed the location and the surrounding area and thank you for your lovely review written in the visitors book.
I hope from my response you understand we have taken onboard your comments and care very much about creating a lovely environment for guests to enjoy.

A great three week stay!
Publié le 14 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe just finished up a three weeks stY. Winchcomb, one of our favorite towns in the UK.
The cottage is in a great location and is a quaint grade 2 listed property, making it comfortably rustic, but equipped with all the mod cons. A two minute walk and you are in the middle of town.
Comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, fast internet, and smart TV. Parking was not a problem. In the three weeks we stayed we parked either directly out front or one or two spaces either side of the front door.
The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for cooking on the nights we chose to eat at home. Plenty of pubs and good takeout for those nights you’d rather not cook.
Emma was a great host, easy to work with, extremely communicative, and had loads of local advice.
A great enclosed yard for our dog round it out our visit.
If you are considering a stay in Winchcombe, I would put this place on your short list.

Everything you could think of was there at our disposal. Our host was quick to reply to a question I had.
