Village centre location, and the oldest house in the village, the site has been occupied since Roman times. Perfectly secluded from the hustle and bustle of Bourton on the Water, within it's own private walled garden (with gated access to the Monarch's Way footpath).
Full of character and styled to stimulate the imagination and evoke a timeless taste of real life in the heart of the English countryside. With the inclusion of mullioned windows, oak panelling as well as four magnificent fireplaces this Grade II listed gem is one of the most evocative places to stay in the village. Bourton on the Water, known as the Venice of the Cotswolds, boasts a wealth of attractions including a famous model village, motor museum, perfumery and bird sanctuary, plus a host of pubs, restaurants and shops. However the undisputed jewel is the river Windrush, which flows through the centre of the village, flanked by the village green, and crossed by no less than five stone bridges. The village is well served with a post office, two supermarkets including the Coop flagship all within minutes walk of the house. Riding is available at a local stable at one end of the village, and there are extensive fishing lakes at the other. Please note that due to the age of the property we advise against stays for elderly guests or those with mobility issues.
