After we paid for 3 nights in full, Panther Creek sold our cabin to another, then charged us a second time, and put us in a U-Haul that they call a tiny home. We arrived in the dark, trailer was dark. There were bugs, dirt, feces. A sheer curtain for a bathroom door, toilet not attached to floor, floor sticky, furniture filthy and greasy. Electrical outlets improperly installed, there is no code, apparently for human safety. Water was left in an appliance on counter from at least a month ago…we RAN out in AM and notified Panther Creek, explained, and proved to them that we paid in full. They tried to keep both sets of payments, as they have a no refunds policy.
Ruined our trip. I have photos of the filth, how do I show others to help folks see this bait-and-switch and FECES on furniture and handrails. Horrifying.
when traveling, we used to try to support Native run businesses, but lack of codes and laws will keep us from Cherokee, and all Native businesses in all future travels. A real shame, but hey, they can make their own rules. After months of badgering, we were able to get some resolution from PCC, but did they clean up, figuratively and literally? Don’t risk your travel $, please.
