Fall in the Mountains
Publié le 8 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe cabin is exactly how it is described; the pictures are accurate. The host is incredibly responsive. We had a few very minor issues that were resolved immediately.
One feature that worked very well for us was the enclosed deck. We could let our dogs onto either the upper or lower deck and they were safe to go up and down as they pleased. There is a gate leading to the gravel parking area that allows for quick access to the car.
The cabin is clean and well stocked. Plenty of paper items (paper towels, tp, tissue). Homedics noise machines by the beds. Thick, large towels. Comfortable beds and bedding.
I was surprised to see a bear! I took the dogs out for a middle of the night potty break and there it was - about 10 yards away in the neighbor's parking area. Black bears are somewhat shy and there was no trouble. My dogs were both leashed and I kept them close to me. I am adding this in as a caution to anyone who brings their pet - things could have been different if my dogs were off leash. If you enjoy traveling with your dogs, please keep them safe and keep them on a leash!

Publié le 31 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe enjoyed the beautiful view and quiet surroundings. The house was just like the pictures. Beds were so comfy and HC worked perfectly. The bedside sound machines were a nice touch, except we were so busy with so many tourist attractions that we slept soundly. My husband loved the large TV’s. Everything we needed was provided. Hoping to come again!

Cool, clean, beautiful and comfortable
Publié le 7 août 2024 sur HomeAwayClose to Blue Ridge and McCaysville. The owners have basically thought of everything you could need or want other than your drinks and food. Anytime I’d say hey we should have brought…. It was there in the cabinet. The little extras like the s’mores ingredients and coffee pods made it that much nicer. I highly recommend this cabin

Peaceful retreat
Publié le 21 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayThe cabin was wonderful and the view gorgeous. We enjoyed staying here. The downstairs bedroom can only be accessed from the deck below. It was not an issue for us and is clearly noted in the description. Something to keep in mind for families with younger kids. We will definitely consider staying here again.

Beautiful view

One thing we didn't catch in the listing is that lower level is NOT connected via indoor staircase to the main house (my bad)... so my husband didn't like being separated from the kids and when it rained you gotta run outside. Just heads up for others, wasn't a big deal for us but still.
And another thing is something that's out of anyones control... we had a rowdy party group on the lake sort of next door and they were a bit obnoxious as far as trying to be in the quiet nature setting. They left after 2 days so it's ok and not in anyones control...
Overall we loved our stay and by the way- paved drive up the mountain definitely a huge plus!!! We have been up some mountains that was way worse.

Everything We Wanted In the Mountains

Nice steep trails to pond and comfortable driving distance to many falls, lakes and vineyards. Elevations from 1500' to 4000'. Recommend SUV or truck for ease of access. Vacay completed as planned.
