Perfect location
Publié le 4 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayOur stay was outstanding. The room was spacious, comfy and clean. The Inn was very quiet during our stay. We made friends with the local chipmunk who is extremely tame. We love having a place so cozy to stay when we are in the area.

Lovely historical home
Publié le 5 mars 2024 sur HomeAwayAt first it was difficult to get in touch with the owners, as the number listed on some sights is the older number. Once I did they were wonderful. They took their time to think of everything to make your stay comfortable. So many little details! The town is so lovely - old victorian style and the house is walkable to a few restaurants. Great to have a mini kitchen available to use, with a big fridge to store items, while also a mini fridge in the room. Look forward to staying here again next year!

Lovely, spacious room. Chester is pretty and has nearby restaurants and shops.
Publié le 30 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayThis is a totally self-catering property requiring a key code to enter, which we were not provided. There was no phone/txt/email to reach the owner. After a half hour knocking and waiting at the door, we ran into a person renting an apartment on the property who told us the owners were not in town and should have sent us the code with the reservation confirmation. Our VRBO confirmation did not include a key code or any check-in instructions. We had no communication whatever from the owner. Fortunately, the neighbor happened to know the key code and got us in the front door. The room key was in the room. From there, we were fine and enjoyed our stay. But it would have been a different story if we had not had a chance encounter with a neighbor who had no responsibility for taking care of inn guests. The next day, we had to assist another party the same way. We just happened to be there for a brief stop while sightseeing around the area, otherwise they might have been stuck as well. Very sloppy management! Some on-scene assistance or at least an emergency contact number should be available.

Hi Lynn! I am so sorry that your experience checking in did not go smoothly! Just looking through your reservation and we did send over an email the morning of your check-in date with your room #, where your key was, WiFi Information and the code to the front door. The reason the door code is not sent until the morning of your check-in date is to prevent guests from entering the Inn before their check-in date. A phone number was not provided for this reservation - so the email address was the only contact I had. But - the neighbor in the review that you speak of were the Inn-keepers that help with reservations and cleaning occasionally. The phone number is also listed in your reservation details. VRBO does not let a host create a listing without having a contact phone # for the reservation.
