Great location
Posted May 28, 2024 on HomeAwayThis rental is right by Indiana Dunes and in a nice neighborhood. Main bed was comfortable and we slept well. The shower needs repaired. There was not a cloth to wash dishes with. The skillet in the cabinet still had food in it. We did walk around the block to get Uno Pizza which is in a speakeasy setting. Nice place. It was early for swimming but we did take a dip. Don let us stay late to enjoy the sun. The pool is well cared for. Overall a good rental.

A previous guest the same week did crack the base of the shower. We now have a new one. All towels are all kept in the closet. Since guest wash and put away everything themselves. We don't check every dish between every nightly stay. Perhaps we should. We welcome everyone upon check-in and encourage all to ask us if they have any questions or need anything. We mean it. We will quickly provide anything needed or correct anything we can. We strive to anticipate all needs and concerns, but sometimes fall short. Ask and we will immediately correct it. Isn't it better to get what you want rather than criticize or complain after the fact?

First time camper users!

We didn’t love Porter, but the proximity to the dunes, restaurants and the property itself brought location and neighborhood up to a 4! That was my first time staying in a camper so I was a little thrown off by the movement through the night. Obviously no fault of the camper, just putting that out there for anyone else who may also be a first timer! I also want to suggest planning your day strategically to be out and about or in the pool midday if it’s a really hot day because the camper has a hard time fighting the extreme heat. Overall, we had a great stay and I would recommend this listing. We used the beautiful pool daily, the host was very responsive and staying in a camper was a fun little adventure for us and our two littles.
