Cosy Family Cottage, within the Cheviot Township


Come and enjoy a relaxing time away at "The Cottage on Cadman."
All local amenities within walking distance. Our local Hotel and lovely cafes offer something for everyone.
The Township also offers a Hairdresser, Hardware Store(including Lotto & NZ Post facility) A fabulous 4square with a huge variety of products for your grocery needs , fresh bread, produce, fish,& meat. And a great selection of Wines and Beers. We also have our very own local Butcher Shop and just recently a Stunning Gift shop called "Gifts & Finds"

With the stunning Gore Bay 10minutes away, for a swim or surf in the sea, or our local rivers for that spot of fishing! Also we have walking and bike trails at hand for the energetic visitor, or a leisurely walk in Historical Cheviot Domain.
For those day drives/activities Kaikoura & Hanmer Spring are a fun day out for the whole family.
The Cottage is warm & very sunny, has a good sized deck off lounge , great area to relax & unwind.

Came to relax at Cadman Cottage
My partner, dog, and I needed to find somewhere to relax, close to Christchurch, after a few tough weeks. Cottage on Cadman was perfect. It is well appointed, warm and cosy, with a comfortable bed, a logburner, sunny back decking, and large section for the dog. We spent four very happy days, and spent time exploring locally. Would recommend it to others.

Lovely, cosy cottage
This cottage was perfect for an autumnal break. The fire made afternoon naps a real luxury when it was drizzly outside. It was so nice to bring our little dog too. I loved the décor - very kiwi and reminded me of holidays as a child. Recommend this spot for a chilled out, kiwi break.

Fabulous house
We stayed three nights, and wish it could have been longer! A clean and well equipped property. The bonus was that we could bring our three dogs with us. Intend to stay there again. Highly recommend.

Lovely Cosy Cottage with vintage decor, covenient location, great for a short break to explore Gore Bay, Hurinui River Mouth and surrounding area. Large back yard for kids to play in. Compact rooms - ideal for four people but can accommodate six in fine weather when able to dine outside.

Lovely little home with plenty of character. I definitely recommend this property, but have to say that it doesn't have wifi & the hot tub wasn't available for use even though it is listed as one of the usable facilities.

Lovely Cheviot Stay
Loved staying at the property. Nice cosy place to stay for a couple of nights. Only negative we found was struggled a bit with getting the key to lock the front door. Other than that though the place was just what we wanted. Thanks again! :)

Very dog friendly!
We had a wonderful time at this property. It had everything we needed and the home was free of clutter. There were many places to put our bags, food, bathroom items, etc. (a thing often lacking in baches). The beds were comfy, the bedlinen was nice and there were plenty of towels. The best bit for us was that this house is properly dog friendly and fully fenced. We didn't know muc about Cheviot, but found many things to do and see in the local area.

Well maintained original house with beautiful view of nearby hill. A perfect hideaway for us in the township. Property Manager is always reachable and ensures a comfortable stay. Chirping of birds (which you hear everywhere in Cheviot) of lovely, specially when you are in tge spa or sitting on deck for evening sun.
