Great House in a Terrible Neighbourhood
I often don’t write reviews but I felt that it was important to do so in this case so that I could help my fellow travellers. The inside of the house is great. It is well-kept, stylish, comfortable and clean. The check-in process was easy and the host was accommodating. However, beware of the title of the listing which is designed to mislead. It states which neighbourhood the property is close to (Oak Park) but not the neighbourhood it is actually in: Austin. One quick Google search would reveal that it is one of the worst neighbourhoods in Chicago and there is tough competition in that realm. Oak Park, on the other hand, is one of the safest neighbourhoods of Chicago. I do my due diligence before picking where I stay but even I was fooled. Had the title been clear about where the property is, I would have no complaints because I would have made an informed decision. Anyone choosing to stay here should know what they are getting themselves into. I would only recommend this to those who do not mind ordering food/groceries to their door and will be spending the majority of their time indoors. I do not recommend being outside in Austin as a tourist, especially at night.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
Firstly, the listing was for the 1st floor, but after arriving the evening of the 9th, the apartment miraculously changed to the 2nd floor, which was over 15 stairs up! The entire point if bookkng this property was because it was listed as 1st floor with only 7 stairs to the apartment. We arrived to a random man being in apartment 1, only to later find out it was the owner that was in apartment 1 and mived us to tge 2nd floor without our permission!The 2nd florr apartment looked like a college student's apartment in the bedrooms, which is nothing like the 1st floor. The bed linens were disheveled and wrinkled. The comforters were folded at the end of the beds rather being on the beds. The 2 beds in the 2nd bedroom didn't have headboards and the only furniture was a wobbling nightstand in between the 2 beds. No tv or dresser on the room.The bathroom had used (turned upside-down) shampoo bottles and a huge stain/gash on the tub. Towels in the closet looked suspects.Needless to say, I demanded a refund for grossly misrepresenting the property and reported the listing to VRBO.PROCEED WITH CAUTION.the property

Really nice place and the host was super helpful (he even answered when we called at almost 3 in the morning). It has almost every kitchen utensils except for a comal (us mexicans use it a lot lol)

We enjoyed our short stay. We were in town for a weekend workshop downtown. The upstairs appartment was clean. It had a small 5 cup drip coffee maker & filters available. There was not a dresser in one bedroom. Overall the space met our needs for the weekend. We enjoyed pizza at Lou's and bbq at Q.

Great stay in a nice clean place
This was a friends meet up at Nick’s place. The apartment is quite roomy was very clean and has everything that you need—including a parking space. The communication with the host was fantastic, and he was very responsive. The only discrepancy I would mention is that the description indicated the apartment was much closer to downtown than we experienced Realistically, it took between 25 and 30 minutes to get to and from downtown—still convenient enough. Instructions for check-in were very clear. we had a great visit

At arrival, Nick greated us with a smile. The space was neat and clean. Friendly neighborhood. On the first night we locked ourselves out of the house and Nick responded quickly and got us in the house. Over all great stay. Would stay again and would totally recommend.

Die Wohnung ist sehr schön und super ausgestattet. Allerdings gibt es die in der Beschreibung genannte Waschmaschine und den Wäschetrockner nicht. Aber es war ein toller Aufenthalt in Chicago.

Clean but very open
This rental was a great find for my family and daughter of 5 years old. The only thing I did not enjoy was there were no blinds or curtains for privacy but I understood being on the second floor there was no need to have them. I would recommend this property because the landlord was very helpful and friendly whom I met with due to my parents and wife forgetting the keys inside the house. He responded right away and handled the situation professionally.

I love Chicago
I loved this rental it was in the middle of everything and very convenient. It was very clean and modernly updated. I feel it could be a 5-star listing however the tenant above our head let their child run across the floor ALL DAY LONG. I complained once and it was corrected to only start the next day. The only other suggestion would be to provide a small amount of cleaning products in order for the tenants to clean.
