Great Location Made Up for the Negatives
The evening staff weren’t all super friendly but the day staff were very nice. The valet was great. Was stressful to pull aside the building and park as it’s directly under the train tracks on a busy street but was much better in the evening. The sheets didn’t seem super clean and the coffee maker was hard to figure out. Great location and price made up for the negatives.

Husband and I had an amazing stay at The Silversmith. The room was very nice and clean, the staff was super helpful, and we got drink vouchers for the bar downstairs which stayed pretty empty and was a good spot to have a nightcap. There was an outage with some of the television stations but we weren’t there to watch television anyway so it wasn’t much of an issue. All of the train lines are super easy to get to, museums and food are convenient, and Millennium Park is like 2 blocks east. Definitely would recommend!

The cleaning staff was friendly and helpful, and the door staff was great. The reception staff was not so much. They would stay there and watch us, and other guests struggle with packages and luggage at the elevators, talking to each other or on their cell phones. They were barely helpful in giving us information about local attractions.

Beverly was fantastic with getting us checked in, giving suggestions for restaurants and just being a super friendly and positive human. The room was wonderful. The bed and bedding are heavenly. The location can't be beat and we walked to many place or hopped on the nearby metro. Love this hotel!

Everything was smooth. Guests services was a great experience with victor. Checking was super easy. Located in a unique building. Good food with in 50 feet of the hotel. Excellent job to the hotel staff.

Wonderful building, kept in good shape! The room was clean and the hallways were well maintained. No disturbances. Walking distance to all of the restaurants and parks. We even walked to the Shedd Aquarium (30 mins). Would stay here again!

First I will say that the staff was very good, and attentive. Although our room was nice, it was a bit tired. The first thing I noticed was that the cushions on the couch were old and looked like they needed more stuffing. They were very tired. The room itself needed more light, as it was very dim. We had to call maintenance right away, as the sink was backed up. We also had to call maintenance, the next day, as the toilet was backed up. Housekeeping didn’t leave any extra toilet paper, only the one roll that was there. Also, didn’t leave us coffee cups. I will note that they were responsive to our requests. I would say this is a nice hotel that could use a face lift!
