The place was awesome, they had to kick out the people before me, so getting my room was a little bit late

Everything was Excellent! The property was beautiful and most of all very CLEAN!!! The way everything was set up on site , to check-in and check-out was a very seamless process. The property was also very spacious, the beds were very big in size, super comfy, and having the three bathrooms in each bedroom was a such a plus. Greek neighborhood was a wonderful and smart location, everything is walking distance: for any coffee connoisseurs: Ground up Coffee is superb, Target is only a couple blocks down. My three kids age ranging 11-12 and hubby felt very safe walking around. As far as parking there’s no parking garage but we were able to find nearby meter parking. 3 hrs was the limit until 10 pm however was able to find great free parking spots going towards H mart grocers. Overall, first time experience with Sonder properties truly exceeded my family and I’d expectations. All well worth it and would love to use Sonder again for future vacation stays. my experience with Sonder was pretty terrible.
TLDR: They charge hotel prices, but their corporate presence, cleanliness, and customer service have a "hotel without the hospitality" feel.
On my first day, I got a nasty message from their customer service that there was a noise complaint for my apartment. I was not in the unit, so this scared me badly. I thought someone had broken in.
I responded to the rep, and they quickly retracted. I asked what happened, and there was no follow up.
As other reviewers have stated, the entrance feels a little unsafe, so the whole situation was unnecessarily alarming. I wouldn't have been as worried if I hadn't been traveling alone.
The building also opens on a sketchy alley in the back with no locked door.
As far as cleanliness, the halls are dirty and smell of chemicals. The shower in my unit was moldy.
Small things like asking about amenities took over 12 hours to get a straight response from customer service. I kept getting "We'll update you" or "we are coordinating now" responses, and then radio silence until I followed up, inevitably having to repeat myself because there were "no notes."
. My reservation required me to switch units, and they couldn't offer a luggage solution for the 4ish hour window. Even that was fine, but it took them 2 days and multiple follow ups to finally respond with that negative.

LOCATION was terrific - central and close to all our 'outings'. Downside was NOT being able to control the thermostat. And NO response to any of our efforts to contact the property manger(s).

Comfy with some considerations
Publié le 17 déc. 2023 sur HotelsRoom was comfy. Great location with cute cafe annd bar across the street. Very close to work in the West Loop. It is so nice to have a closer and a kitchen! Stairs were a challenge…not recommended for people who cannot lug their bags up multiple flights of stairs. The front door of the building was propped open one evening, which felt insecure. The bathroom has mold growing around the base boards and shower. Some of the kitchen utensils are worn out and need replacement (hot water pot, fridge water filter).
