Up island oasis
Publié le 25 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayA Vacasa managed property that has everything you could want. We stayed 4 nights with our whole family and our small dog. It had everything we could want and we enjoyed ourselves. Recently redone, with
good fit and finish and places to hang cook and relax off a dirt road that is well situated. Our only comments would be that there were some things needing fixing like the grill handle, lights not in sockets, and general disarray of bedding and supplies in the closets. While clean and fresh bedding, the comforters don’t have covers and didn’t look that clean with stains and general sign of wear. In general the other reviews tell a similar story. Management company needs to step it up.

Tell you this before you book . Vacasa very terrible customer service. We asked for a 10:30 or 11:00 check out because our ferry was cancelled and we were told no. Deck was in terrible condition and did. Lt seem safe

Quiet getaway
Publié le 7 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe stayed here for the MV derby. Beautiful property but it is in need of some updates, and exterior cleaning and maintenance. There were cans on the lawn/some trash leftover from the past tenants in the bedrooms. The shower needs maintenance and a good cleaning. The deck has some soft spots that we agreed we probably shouldn’t step on. Appliances were new and the propane stove and grill were great!

Great Potential, Few Let Downs
Publié le 23 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayThe house is tucked down a magical driveway with serene surroundings. Unfortunately, there were a few things that left us feeling a bit disappointed. It was clear we were one of the first visitors of the season. The house was quite musty, the washer was filled with water and mold, the showers were not cleaned, showing clear hard water, spider webs, and some build up. The comforter in the master was stained, including some blood. The AC on the top floor was not working. Lastly, the door handle fell off the moment we arrived, without an ability to lock up.
It is too bad as this was a quintessential vineyard home, with a beautiful kitchen, and vista points. There was unexpected mint planted in the yard!
We were unable to reach a real person and after filing a request, they did not arrive till day three of our four day stay. I don’t think this was the reflection of the owners, it is clear they care for their home.

Madelin, thank you for being our guest and taking the time to share your experience! We're pleased you liked our home, especially the beautiful kitchen and views. That said, we apologize for the areas you found needing some TLC and any cleanliness details missed. Our local manager assured us that housekeeping has been addressed and we regret any disconnect in service you encountered when communicating with our team. They noted that they sent a team member to the property as soon as they were informed of issues and we sincerely apologize for any delay. They also noted that there is a humidifier in the home to deal with any mustiness due to the home’s island location, and they will check it to make sure it's working properly. The washer had stopped mid-cycle and did not drain properly and this has been resolved. Additionally, the door lock was replaced and we appreciate your feedback as an opportunity to improve. We hope you will allow us the chance to provide you with a truly exceptional vacation experience in the future.

Our stay in Chilmark

My 3 star review has to do with a couple of issues and a lack of responsiveness from the owner/property manager. When we arrived, the code to open the lockbox didn’t work. I texted the owner (maybe a bot rather than a live person?) who could not solve the problem. I was told “our local team is working on the issue.” We wondered around the house and eventually found an open door. The “local team” never came or got in touch with us so while we could get into the house, we were not able to lock the house during our stay since we were never able to open the lockbox to retrieve a key. On our final evening we didn’t have any hot water. I once again reached out. I was once again told the local crew was working on it. I never heard from anyone else and no one ever arrived to try to solve the problem, leaving us unable to shower before traveling home — not a huge deal for most of us but one person was traveling to CA. Thankfully, we had family staying on island and the CA traveler was able to use their shower before the long journey. These were two incidents that certainly didn’t ruin our stay but were very unfortunate and wouldn’t have seemed like a big deal if we felt like someone was actually trying to resolve the issues.
