Decent break btw Lusaka & Livingstone

Publié le 6 janv. 2021 sur Hotels
This is a decent stopping point if you want to break up the Lusaka/Livingstone drive. But don't use Google Maps to try to find this place - it led us on a 30 minute off-roading adventure through back alleys and fields! Use the Expedia map instead. The hotel room was basic but spacious and clean. Some small fixtures could use with repairs (bathroom sink and soap holder in shower) but this wasn't a big deal. I booked through Hotels.com the night before we arrived but the hotel didn't receive the booking info till 24 hours later, so when we showed up they were rather confused. Saying hello and smiling would have been nice on our arrival. There was no menu to view, but they offered a choice between chicken, or beef stew, with either potatoes or nshima (they had no rice). Other reviews on booking.com said the food could take a long time, 1hr +, so order ahead if you can. Ours was ready in about 40 minutes - simply cooked, but huge portions with a delicious gravy. The breakfast comes with bacon, sausage, eggs, toast, and cereal. I would stay here again to break up the drive. Friend recommended to check out the Choma museum as well, as you can get very cheap (e.g. 40 k) handwoven baskets and artefacts there, much cheaper than at the more typically touristy places.
