Not certain I have ever seen a more run down property. Except for the tub/shower which appeared to be relatively new/good shape. Even this was moderated by the fact that the shower head was none existent. I will say the linens appeared to be clean, but the light wasn’t the best and I didn’t want to look too close. Pay the extra and find a better place.

At this price point I was expecting it to be sketchy, but Travel Inn set a new bar for sketch. When I arrived at 11pm to check in, I was directed to a bullet-proof wicket where I had to stuff my ID and papers through a slot. Obviously this motel is used for a lot of shady business, as I had to sign a fairly extensive waiver at check-in. There was a lot grilling about who would be in the room and what I would be doing. After much photocopying of IDs and establishing of paper trail, I was given my room key. On the way to my room I passed the pool area, which had a sign saying WARNING - POOL CLOSED. This sign was fairly unnecessary as the pool was covered and there was some kind of brown and yellow growth all over the cover. Arriving at my room I immediately noticed that the door had clearly been forced open numerous times in the past; the frame was dented and chipped around the handle. Inside, the security latch had been broken off. The room. Stains everywhere, holes in walls/doors, burn marks on the tub, sink wouldn’t drain. There was one bar of soap, but no shampoo or even a cup in the bathroom. When I went to get into the bed, I found there was no top sheet. At that point staff had left for the night, so I had to sleep directly under the horrible stained bedspread. I soon discovered there were train tracks nearby and the diesel horn blasts ensured regular awakenings. At 6am I couldn’t stay in that disgusting bed any longer, so I got up and got the hell out of there.
