Nice small single room
Lovely little place in a small single room with a semi comfy bed with small en suite.
Room above the restaurant so I didn’t hear any noise from the pub at any point. Girl who checked me in was lovely.
The hotel sits back from a very busy road and room 3 faced this road . So with windows open a very noisy room. The whole outside wall is damp with bubbling plaster work. Some lights in the room not working . Definitely needs some attention. Needs bedside tables and mugs or saucers . What was most concerning apart from the spores on areas of the interior wall was this which really should have been communicated upon booking is no food available apart from a pop up barbecue in the evening but no ability to get breakfast . Told to walk up the road to another pub as a “walk in “ due to there chef being on maternity leave . I’m a disabled lady so not able to simply walk up the road .Having paid £115.00 for room only being in a very damp noisy room is not value for money .
Absolutely enjoyed our short stay here at Littledean House Hotel! The rooms were a decent size, beds had comfortable blankets and pillows and the en-suite bathrooms were more than adequate. We were surprised at how much room the kids had to play with their monster trucks 😀! Breakfast was conveniently located at Belfry Inn a short walk away. The view from the garden was lovely. Sand was very efficient at check in and super helpful and friendly when it came to recommendations for food and activities. It was our first visit to the Forest of Dean area and this made for a good experience. Would stay again. We stayed with two small kids 3 and 6 and a wee one 5 months. The staff from housekeeping was also very sweet to the baby.
The property was very clean and comfortable, and the owner and staff was very friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble for them , would recommend .
On the whole we were very satisfied with the accommodation though the building was showing some sign of aging .On arrival the staff although were quite busy were very pleasant and helpful in the administration,I would definitely return to this establishment on a future occasion.
Incredibly historic old hotel, parts of which are Jacobean. Yet despite this, it doesn’t feel half done at all. The bar is terrific with a contemporary twist which doesn’t detract from the ancientness of the place at all.
My room was spotless and my bed soooooo comfortable it was a struggle to get out.
I arrived late and it was snowing so didn’t get to appreciate quite where l was but, in the morning, the sun was blazing and the thaw was on and the view from the gardens behind the hotel are stunning and indeed, Littledean itself is nestled in the most beautiful location it’s hard to leave.
Combined with the wonderful welcome and hospitality of the young lady behind the bar whose name l cannot remember l’m ashamed to say.
Thoroughly recommend and l will most certainly be back.
Thankyou guys 👍
Lovely location and friendly staff, however the room was very noisy with running water and flushing from other rooms, loud enough to prevent me from sleeping and I'm half deaf.
Absolutely dreadful place . Told by front of house staff " kitchen and bar are closed on a Tuesday night and no breakfast on Wednesdays . The room was awful with peeling paint on tables and furniture . The bed was dreadfully lumpy with no support . The TV didn't work . 4 steps down directly after my rooms door . Hallways were badly lit and very dingy . Threadbare carpets everywhere. Rotten window frames .
A really lovely pub/hotel. We stayed in the middle of October. Our room was very well appointed for the cost. The bed was incredibly comfortable, more so than more expensive hotels that we have stayed in. The owner was very welcoming and accommodating and the pub friendly and cosy. Would highly recommend.
On arrival there was no staff to be found. Entrance was at the back of the hotel from the car park, the building was very dated with used beer kegs strewn everywhere. What once must have been a lovely hotel with water features and rolling lawns with numerous outhouses, is now just a local bar with a garden. The rooms themselves were clean and tidy. Its a shame that it has been neglected for so long. It has alot of potential if soneone is willing to spend alot of time and money..
