Superbe séjour

Super ! Cet endroit est vraiment superbe. Au pied du mont Rolland , dans un écrin de nature. Au calme. Entouré par quelques animaux de ferme et multitudes de possums, wallabies. Proche de craddle Mountain Nous étions dans le cottage #6. Bien agencé, bien équipé avec une belle vue sur la montagne et la vallée pour profiter du coucher de soleil. John, le propriétaire est très avenant, de bons conseils. Le tour de nuit qu"il propose est à ne surtout pas rater. Thanks John Enfin la piscine est très bien pour tous A noter lave linge à discrétion Nous y retournerons si nous revenons en Tasmanie!

We had a excellent stay at Silver Ridge. The self-contained cabin was perfect for us, and the views around the property are amazing. The indoor pool was a very nice bonus.

The positives were a clean comfortable bed and the bathroom was renovated to a good standard. The rest of the cottage and the whole site was incredibly tired and appeared sadly neglected. There were dead flies on the window sills and a lot of grit. Dishes had not been washed properly by previous guests. You could not drink the water, lucky we had enough bottled water to get by.

Hi Stephen, We're sorry to read you found things warranting attention that you did not raise with us during your stay. Flies, grit & dirty dishes are not our standard and I'm happy to say that is reflected in the vast majority of all reviews. Telling us these things after you've left leaves us no opportunity to improve your experience.We take care to post accurate and representative photos of our accommodation on all listings so potential guests know what to expect. Your cabin and room was as depicted and described and our property is anything but neglected. Seasons throughout the year can dramatically affect aesthetics and we wonder whether the current dry period has given you this perception.Our water quality is not unlike what you would find in most natural running water systems in Tasmania. We filter and sanitise it. However, the law in Tasmania requires us to advise you to boil all water before drinking that is not town water treated. Thank you for staying with us and we hope your Tasmanian travels were enjoyable.

Lovely setting, cabins need updating

The setting is gorgeous and the swimming pool is beautiful—perfect temperature. We walked to the abandoned silver mine on the property and succeeded in seeing glow worms. It’s a 30 minute drive to the cradle mountain visitor center. The cabins have seen better days and have ugly plastic covering the tops of tables and dressers. Ours did not have a full kitchen, which was not clear from the hotel.com ad. There are no restaurants nearby so we had planned to cook our own meals, but that’s hard with just a microwave and a communal grill.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for staying with us. By your description you stayed in our Spa Suite, and not any of our cabins. The Spa Suite is the only room we have that does not have a full kitchen. To the extent we can describe this clearly on Expedia's platform we do (described as a kitchenette) and we take care to provide multiple photos of the entire room and facilities. This particular room, because both the eating area and kitchen facilities are limited, has protective plastic on three items of furniture to save them from food and drink spills. All other cabins have dedicated eating areas that are less conducive to having food and drink enter bedrooms. However your feedback on the optics of this is noted and we'll put some more thought to this.For the benefit of readers of this review, we have multiple Restaurants in the nearby Town of Sheffield which is 11km and less than 10 minutes away. We provide details of these in an email sent to each guest 3 days prior to arrival and in our in room guest information booklets.Kind regards
