Such a beautiful house and sweet host! I was just passing through during a cross country drive, but would definitely have stayed longer if I could. So glad that I stayed here instead of a bland hotel. Definitely would love to come back.

This is such a fabulous place to stay! The owner is very gracious and has spent many decades restoring this beautifully-crafted Victorian house to perfection. A very charming place, comfortable and quiet, with a pleasant view of the river from the front porch. The breakfast was also top-notch.

First and foremost, Peggy was kind enough to look for, and find, a pendant I had left behind in the upstairs bathroom. It's safe to say that she goes above and beyond the call of duty. My husband, our dog, and I stopped there overnight on our way to Cincinnati for Thanksgiving. The house is historic, adorable, and well appointed. Peggy is good company and an excellent hostess. The home cooked breakfast the day we left was delicious. Definitely recommend this property!

Dear Steve - It was lovely hosting you for the PSU - Michigan football game. There was a great atmosphere at Beaver Stadium with the highest ever attendance record of 110,856. Wow! What a beautiful, elegant and peaceful retreat. Our room was exceptionally comfortable, loved the bathroom and Peggy was a superb hostess. Breakfast was also excellent. Could not recommend highly enough!

Great place - great hostess - hot room
Publié le 15 sept. 2023 sur HotelsThis place was so charming - a step back in time! The hostess was so friendly and even took the time to sit with us at breakfast to talk with us. The only negative was that the A.C. did not turn on much (if at all) once the night time hours came and it was very stuffy and hot while trying to sleep.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. The B&B has central air conditioning. I discovered late one night last week that the thermostat controlling a/c for guest rooms had been set to 75 degrees without my knowledge. I turned it down to 70 degrees which normally cools the 2nd floor room you stayed in quite nicely. Retrofitting an 1894 home for central air was quite the challenge. Unfortunately the vents which feed a/c to the 2nd floor can take some time to cool sufficiently once heat has been allowed to build up. I'm sorry you were uncomfortable - I hope you were able to utilize the ceiling fan to circulate the air. Thank you for submitting your review.
