We had a great time staying here. Neither one of us had been to Cleveland before and it was a perfect location close to great restaurants and activities. The house is beautiful and the area around it is as well. James was a great host and fun to talk to during our amazing breakfasts. We definitely will be back.

Jim is a wonderful host! His dog and cat are so personable and polite too. The house is comfy inside and out. Breakfast was as delicious as the table setting was beautiful. A hidden gem!

Thank you for your pleasant stay. FYI, house built in 1868, third level added 1890. Major remodel by others in 1970; endless (haha) maintenance since!A polite but separate question/ discussion concerned the heating system. It is quality hot water heat in a 3500 sq ft home with 3 floors. In variable temperature Spring and Fall you might might hear a little crackle or minor water noise in the heating pipes as the boiler adjusts to the changes with outside temperature and the heating needs. It's the nature of this classic system. People familiar and used to radiator heat love it while a couple others very sensitive to strange sounds in new environments might lay awake wondering what the sound is. Not really a big deal, fine for 99 per cent, but two sets of guests were light sleepers and had an issue, so thought it worth mentioning. This is a home, not a modern hotel, and even though old, has a legitimate, working heat system! Boiler heat is actually considered better. It is more pricey to install which is why you don't see it that often in newer built homes.

Exceptional, far better than a hotel. Factor in food & parking and it's worth it. The host Jim is very nice, & an excellent breakfast cook and good company in the morning. Spacious, comfortably decorated, cozy. Very conveniently located.
A charming experience for those wanting something more homely than your dime-a-dozen hotel.

Thank you for the review and for being the friendly, mannerly, positive, preferred type of guest you are.Jordan's review nicely sums up why certain people prefer a bed and breakfast....and it's not for that perfect piece of state of the art real estate at a bargain price..... It's for those who appreciate the charm, the pets and the poetry of the whole experience. Those who like new experiences and roll with the idiosyncrasies. (Hopefully he meant "homey" not "homely", Haha!)

Perfectly located to all major attractions (zoo, aquarium, science center, rock and roll hall of fame, west side market, botanical gardens, etc). Jim is an amazing innkeeper (and a wonderful cook!). Room was beautiful and quiet! A great place for a Cleveland getaway!

You won't be sorry picking The Clifford House for a very personal experience with a fantastic host. All of Ohio City is within walking distance, & Jim knows the area like the back of his hand - there is something for anyone's preferences there. We had always stayed in downtown Cleveland before, & it seemed like we were Uber-ing to Ohio City all the time, so our decision to actually stay in Ohio City this time was a no-brainer, & Jim's B&B was the best choice for an accommodation - the amenities were out of this world (blueberry muffins - mmmmmm). We would/will stay there again without hesitation. Thanks, Jim!

So Much Charm!!
Publié le 11 nov. 2019 sur HotelsThe Clifford House and its incredible host were perfect. The car and dog add so much character to a place that you wouldn’t think needed any more! The location was walkable to a great little district of restaurants, a cool market and breweries. If you love B&Bs, stay here!
