The hotel is very nice and very clean. Employee checking us in didn't seem to know what he was doing and our room was not ready, which was frustrating. Room and bathroom were beautiful but shower heads were lacking and the tile floor got very slippery and, therefore, dangerous.

Check time was to be 4:00 P.M.. We arrived at 3:45. Our room was not ready for check until after 5:00 P.M.. There was no effort to compensate my party for this inconvience

Hotel property itself was beautiful. Wonderful location relative to restaurants and where we were headed. Parking was a mess, but the valet was only slightly more than self-park and the valet workers were great! Great hotel if you're in downtown Cleveland.

Arrived at 3:15. Was told room was not ready, q5 minutes. An hour and a half later i demanded to speak with a manager. The event we were attending started at 7pm. It was after 5 when we go in room. Did not have time to have a dinner. Also, the threes times i check on availability (twice in person, once via phone) of my room, knowing the $591 fee was already completed the transaction, i spoke with a polite young man when a mouthy desk clerk,Ryan, said (when i asked about the wait) said "you and everbody else."
The manager did get us our room. Told us to get a drink at the bar.(i and my grandson dont drink). I asked for parking to be compted.
Wasnt.
I have come to this hotel twice a year for about 8 years. It's a treat. But this was worst experience ever.
I had worked 13 hours the night before, hadn't sowered, slept 1 hour, drove 4 and a half hours from Ashland, Ky, and made to wait over an hour and a half.
I have a non refundable, (already paid for) through Hotels.com, in October and would like to cancel reservation.
This experance has ruined what we have always found as a great experience.

Charlene, the situation described is definitely concerning. It appears there might have been a misunderstanding, and it's unfortunate this affected your plans for the evening. It's clear that the hotel team could have done more to manage your expectations about your room's availability. Compliments go to the team member who showed courtesy, even though another interaction was not satisfactory. The hotel values your past loyalty and clearly this visit didn't meet expectations. For future stays, you might consider contacting Hotels.com regarding your upcoming reservation, as they may be able to assist with cancellation options.
