A little piece of heaven

Such an amazing spot. Stunning views, beautiful swimming pool and the spa was available by negotiation. The yurt itself was such a fun. It is a bit tired but a really great experience

Don't!

4 nights "glamping' in a yurt, arrived to no host (in Sydney - not mentioned this!). Partner in house but didn't meet us. We carefully accessed via a very dodgy path as told the key was in the yurt for us. I'd enquired about the facilities - pool & spa available for use (April to October). Asked if heated (as it's May & pretty cold). pool isn't but spa is as long as you give the hosts notice to start it. As there's no TV the spa was going to be a good diversion for us. As it was cold we tried to get the air con going to heat - not working! The host Steve messaged us from Sydney to advise we would need to switch it to "heat" which we actually knew & had done - long story short despite many attempts the air con was clearly not working & as raining & cold & basically a tent we needed something. Eventually Steve's partner offered us a free standing heater. We asked her to switch on the spa which she didn't do correctly so in the end told her to leave it until the next day when we were told Steve would be back from Sydney. The yurt was very basic which was fine but it was also quite dirty. The smoke alarm was hanging open with no battery! Deck & pathway very slippery as raining & lighting was insufficient (6 lights only 2 working). I actually fell & sprained my ankle started walking long way round via the house. Eventually transpired spa didn't work - actually had to ask Steve to meet us & after much convincing he believed us! BBQ dirty, zips broken! Checked out early Have photos!

This is a case of the yurt simply not being the right place for you. We usually do not greet guests as we try to give guests as much privacy as possible and generally stay out of their way. The path you walk down to the yurt is absolutely fine but yes it was raining whilst you were here and we are essentially located in the rainforest so we are not the right place for people who are phased by a bit of nature and / or not so steady on their feet. We certainly don't have a TV and wouldn't encourage the type of person who would want a TV to come here. Nature is our TV. It was unfortunate that you were the guests to have the aircon fail on you, however we quickly reacted to this by giving you a heater. The yurt was certainly not dirty (we have it thoroughly cleaned before each guest) but again we are located in the rainforest, so are never going to be as squeeky clean as a hotel which you might find in Byron Bay for example. The hot tub heats perfectly fine, apologies for you not being able to turn on bubbles, this has now been fixed.
