Beautiful spot but very loud at night with animals (rooster, loud dog that nobody tried to quiet for hours so assuming it’s a stray, birds) highly recommend ear plugs. Great stay, comfortable and beautiful spot highly recommend!

CAUTION TO PROSPECTIVE GUESTS! READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING! This is not a hotel, but more like glamping. For what they are charging, there are much better options in Santa Teresa.
We were unpleasantly surprised to find out that the toilet, sink, and shower are all outdoors. Using an outdoor toilet in 37c (99F) heat is quite unpleasant. No where on Expedia does it say that the toilet is located outside. We tried discussing our concerns with the local representative, she was friendly and reached out to the owner for a resolution. No luck. The owner refused to work with us on even a partial refund even though we did not stay there for any of the 3 nights we booked. The outdoor shower is a nice idea, but the wooden walls have large gaps that open into the parking lot. Also, the main road through town passes a few meters away from the bungalows making a lot of noise from all the quads and motorcycles as well as fumes and dust.
It seems that the owner wants to save a few pennies at the expense of the guest. Signs inside prohibit bringing towels to the beach. When we requested actual beach towels, we were told to buy them at the local supermarket. So, we spent $24 USD on towels that we will not be able to bring back with us. No other hotel we have stayed at in Costa Rica refused to provide beach towels.
I am sure that someone from Buena Onda will come on here and discredit this review, but it’s the unfortunate truth. Hopefully I can prevent someone making the same mistake like us.

Cockroaches + no sleep at night + no privacy
Publié le 13 mars 2024 sur HotelsWe wanted to love this place because it photos it looked like an amazing jungle retreat but what we found was cockroaches in the room, in the kitchen, and around the property.
Our long awaited vacation turned into a nightmare.
We could not sleep because neighboring roosters started crowing at 2am and their coop was just 5 meters away from our room. It was LOUD.
There was also lack of privacy in the bathroom as there is a 2 story house which can see directly into the shower.
Also, rooms had thin see-through curtains which let in outside street lights at night, and make it hard to change.
After the first night of no sleep and chasing cockroaches from the room, we notified the property management asking for a refund. They declined it stating that they cannot control outside noise and that cockroaches are normal part of jungle.
After leaving the property and renting another one just down the street we found no cockroaches there and could sleep in silence.
DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS US AND RENT ROOMS HERE, there are much better options in town.
We will leave video evidence on google reviews showing video recordings of rooster noises so you can hear them.

Hola Giedrius! We are sorry to hear about your discomfort in our property. However I must say your review is not fair. You spend one night with us where you only comment us about the noise of the rooster. We absolutely understand that, but we can not control the environment around us. It is true we are located in the middle of the jungle, so even thought we do cleanings everyday and fumigate three times a year, it is normal to find some common bugs in the surroundings. After you commented this, we offer to sent our cleaning staff but at this point you did not want it. We understand our property is not for everybody so we are happy you found another location where you felt more comfortable and glad you enjoyed your stay in santa teresa. Pura vida!

We really enjoyed the quiet and proximity to the beach. The staff was very helpful but also gave us privacy. We really enjoyed our stay.

Charmerende
Publié le 24 janv. 2023 sur HotelsVi havde et skønt ophold på Buena Onda. Tilbragte 4 dage i de skønne og charmerende bambus hytter. Stedet ligger i kort gåafstand til stranden, indkøb og restauranter.
Eneste minus var naboens hane.
De varmeste anbefalinger herfra ☀️.

Imposible dormir
Publié le 30 janv. 2022 sur HotelsLos Bungalows son bonitos, y el jardin es precioso, pero estan al lado de la carretera, y el ruido de los ATVs, las motos y los coches q pasan literalmente al lado, hace imposible dormir. Estuvimos 5 dias y no limpiaron ni cambiaron las toallas en ningun momento.

Hola,
Al principio, podría habernos hablado directamente sobre el problema del ruido, ya que nos escribió para organizar varias actividades, que organizamos de inmediato. Así como te permitimos guardar tus maletas dentro del bungalow para el check out tardío y te permitiste dejar restos de comida incluso si el bungalow ya se había limpiado para el próximo check-in.
En cuanto al ruido: Santa Teresa tiene un solo camino y todos pasan por él. Como habrás notado, en esta calle se concentra toda la actividad comercial, la mayoría de los hoteles y restaurantes.
La próxima vez puedes ir a un resort de montaña por tres veces el precio sin acceso a la playa y sin ningún servicio (supermercado y restaurantes).
En cuanto a la limpieza:
El patio y la cocina se limpian todos los días, mientras que si te quedas más de una semana, se limpiará el bungalow y se cambiarán las sábanas. Como en la reglas que estas escribida en el Bungalow.
Solo te quedaste 5 noches.
Para cambiar las toallas, en cambio, bastaba simplemente pedir, como tú me pediste que cambiara la papelera.
