Grand Turk Sojourn

Posted Apr. 17, 2024 on HomeAway
We could not have selected a better appointed home than this. It exceeded expectations. Cleaner than any place we have ever stayed, with all the needed kitchen and bath items. But its beauty lies in the view from the deck --- from sunrise in all its warm glory and the waves of the turquoise sea and the constant breeze, it was our happy place. The seabirds, donkeys and dogs kept us entertained, as well as watching local fisherman make their catches with old-fashioned nets. The locale is away from the hustle and bustle of Cockburn Town (I use that term loosely because even town is relatively quiet!). Everyone was kind and friendly - EVERYONE! Lucy and Nathan provide any information needed, from maps to golf cart rental suggestions to dining and keep you in the loop from booking until leaving. Eagles Nest Lookout does not disappoint.

Home away from home

We loved the location. It was so quiet and serene. Beautiful views. Well stocked kitchen. Bed super comfortable! Opening the windows allowed a beautiful cross breeze through the whole place which was so nice to sleep with at night. Lucy extremely timely and responsive to any questions. Perfect hosts and condo. Did not love Grand Turk itself; very limited food and grocery choices and quite pricey. Overall the people weren’t friendly….. the best beach we found was Governor Beach. The others were quite littered and disappointing. That being said- it was nice to be able to head home to the condo after a long day. Great little spot.

A get away of all get away's!

Posted Mar. 29, 2024 on HomeAway
My husband wanted a quiet get away to celebrate his birthday and boy did he pick the right island! I found Lucy & Nate's quiet, beautiful vista in the Eagles Nest Loft. Updated and quaint (just like this Island). loved tooling around in our golf cart and exploring the island. Govenor's beach is just breathtaking! Having a cheeseburger in paradise at the Sandbar is a must too. My husband is a cook, so of course we headed to the fish market on the West side (green building), boats come in about 5:30, we got the best red snapper. Lobsters were as long as my arm and only $ 18/lb. The loft is equipped with great spices and good pans, yeay! Thank you Lucy & Nate for sharing your peaceful slice of paradise with us. ---Kathy & Mitch

A different world

Posted Mar. 9, 2024 on HomeAway
Our experience has given us a new perspective on life. We deal with people all day in our careers, everyone is always in a hurry, the tension & stress of the world around us and everyday demands were totally gone. The natives were very nice and relaxed. The location of our property was awesome, miles of beach to ourselves and we felt like we were secluded, total peace!!! We will be back!!

Wonderful adventure

Posted Sep. 11, 2023 on HomeAway
The house/ apt is very clean and compact, every required necessity, and many unexpected comforts. A vehicle for exploration is a must, and Mr. Marshall with the cart rental proved multiple times to be a valuable asset, wonderful guide, and happily, good friend. We started every day with breakfast, ( after I went fishing while Jen snoozed in) cooked in, and then packed frozen water bottles and cold drinks in our soft cooler, grabbed beach bags and coolers, applied sunscreen ( heavily), and took off to find a new beach. We swam and snorkeled till we were tired, would either eat out (The Fisherman’s Wife) or cook lunch, then off to go fishing, or exploring, until sunset. We fished on our own, mostly, and went out with Deep Blue charters, one day. We tried to see every part of the island, and came close. We met a friend from Dominica, went dancing, and petted nearly every pot cake, donkey, and pony on the island. Wonderful people, and what a diverse population for such a small island. Google Translate helped us make so many friends, so many laughs…Adventures await the adventurers…

Relaxing stay with great ocean views

Posted Jan. 24, 2023 on HomeAway
It was so nice to get away to the island of Grand Turk. We chose to fly Caicos Express and the caption was great and we loved all the photos we took from the air from Provo. The cruise ship pier is so much fun to visit when a cruise is in town with a large swimming area & shops plus Margaritaville! The Island is small and not the night life as in Provo but it was so nice for us to completely relax. We enjoyed Governors beach & Pillory beach, as well as dining with water views at Osprey Beach Hotel restaurant. We booked a Beach Trail & swim on horses from a super nice guy through Viator. We booked a golf cart through Omar but our golf cart was so slow, we had it swopped out but the second one was only a little better, Omar said he has them governor set 20 km when the speed limit is 40 km (its for safety) but we had cruise passengers pass us on the roads, when ships were in town, with nicer golf carts - so this is the only thing I would change. Grocery store is small and limited items but we had all we needed. If your picky, you might want to pack dry goods. The house is beautiful, cozy and just perfect with a covered deck and loved the walk to the beach (its not a swimming beach) but we enjoyed looking for shells and the donkeys come right up to you which made for some fun pictures. We also enjoyed you have cable TV. Absolute great price for a caribbean get-away. Thank you so much for offering your beautiful home. We loved the view from the bedroom with moring coffee. The alarm system was really nice added feature.

View to Die for.

This location is absolutely stunning. If you need a recharge for your mind and soul come here. Just the ability to slow down and have a view of striking natural beauty and peaceful calm made all the difference. We will be back. Nathan was such a great guy too. We met him when we arrived and I could tell we were in good company. Thanks for giving us this time to unwind Lucy and Nathan. And thanks to Kristen for being a lovely help with restaurants and good fun!
