Beach getaway

Cocoa Beach

Online listing didn't mention that we were renting half of a house and sharing outdoor space with other renters, it seemed as if we would have the whole place. Check-in process was a little weird, kept getting messages about providing owner with credit card and passport info, even though we went through VRBO and are US citizens. But overall a nice place to stay.

Not great- thankfully only a one-night stay
Posted Jul. 3, 2024 on HomeAwayOverall, I was thankful we only had to spend one night. I am not a picky person when it comes to accommodations...as long as it is clean and in a safe area I am normally happy. This stay was a weird one for me. The "house" is in a good area and neighborhood, and parking is easy for one car. The grounds were beautiful with tropical flowers blooming. The "house" is split into four condo type rooms, each with their own entrance. The door to ours was extremely hard to get open because of age/humidity. Once inside, the place is way smaller than I thought. We are a family of 5. If you have the pullout sofa open, you cannot walk through the living room. You have to crawl over it to get to the other room. It was also extremely uncomfortable to sleep on, because it sleeps at an angle. The house was not cooled like we like it, and the owners have a lock on the thermostat to keep you from changing it any lower. Overall the house was clean enough, it just looked very grungy bc the house is very dark and old. It also said that we could walk to the beach; we could not figure out how to walk to the beach. We had to drive over to find a place to go see the ocean. The owners have a binder with information in it, but it came across as more rules and demands than helpful. Cameras outside also made me pause and there were several of them. We could not figure out the outdoor space either...where we were allowed and not. Overall, just thankful we had one night only here. Close to the port, though

Sea Turtle in Cocoa Beach
Posted Jun. 28, 2024 on HomeAwayIt was great! It was our first time using Vrbo so I was a bit nervous didnt know what to expect. The place was nice she provided snacks and essentials for our family. We didnt have to go to the store to get extras with what we brought ourselves. There were beach towels we went there not knowing what to expect and everything we needed was taken care of. Very happy with our stay and experience.
