Quiet rural property ideally suited for access to the North Side of the Rangitata River mouth
Publié le 5 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe property is sited on a farm. It is well away from an unsealed road (no traffic noise) and from the farm house. I think I may have heard a chain saw for a short while. In case you are worried there are no farmyard 'smells'. Check in and instructions on how to find the property were great. The manager replied promptly to my questions. I saw no one else, but I could have walked to the farmhouse if there was a major problem.
The property is a converted shipping container, that is light, airy and was easy to warm up. The kitchen and shower were good. The view was lovely. I have no criticism what so ever. Like most of the Canterbury beaches south of Christchurch are NOT for swimming. In hindsight I should have taken my surfcaster rod.

Great Weekend Getaway
Publié le 24 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayImpressed both me and my partner for our Anniversary Trip, amenities were abundant for the size of the building, super scenic on clear mornings (Mt Hutt, Taylor & Harper visible) making it perfect for casual or experienced photographers (especially with the amount of native Fauna flying around). Ashburton, Geraldine and Lake Hood all reachable in 25-35min depending on traffic,otherwise a great location away from everything but close enough to major towns to have a great weekend away in Mid-Canterbury.

Very peaceful rural hideaway
Publié le 5 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayColdstream isn't on the tourist track but that was the point, just to get away from everything in a quiet rural setting. The rhythms of the surrounding farm were very peaceful and the nearby coast was good to explore. Only 40 minutes drive to great tramping too. The cottage was small but perfectly formed - great kitchen, awesome shower pressure, cosy at night, and spotless. Some wee treats provided by the host were a nice touch. Thanks for a great stay.

Great spot
