A wonderful stay

We loved the walking trail to the private sandy beach.
The owner was quick to respond to questions.
We had dear and bunnies in the yard each day and had no visibility if the other rentals on this large property.
Highly recommend biking the Celtic trail with Mikes Bikes enike rentals. Also loved our hike at Egypt Falls and dinners and music at the Red Shoe pub

Fall Cape Breton Visit
Publié le 13 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayClean and relatively new this unit offers 3 bedroom and 2 baths with high ceilings and large outside deck. The host was very attentive and helpful.
The only draw back was a perception that the cabin is close to the beach/ocean. It offers access to the beach via 5-7 minute walking path and the beach is sandy, wide and private.
Overall lovely unit for entertaining and visiting the local Cabot Trail.

While the beach is currently accessible via the the groomed nature trail (which many guests enjoy), we plan to build a short, private lane which will give guests an option to drive a vehicle and park within about 100 meters of the beach beginning in 2025.

Publié le 26 août 2024 sur HomeAwayOne of the most important aspects of renting is communication with the host. Michael could not have done more to assist us in any way. He was always quick to respond to any questions we had. Always pleasant and patient. The house is well appointed on a secluded hill overlooking the Northumberland Strait. (Nature trail to the beach .5 to .75 mile.) The house is beautifully decorated with a clean modern look and has everything you think you might need. The kitchen is fully equipped with all new appliances, dishes, etc. Bed was very comfortable. The deck was our favorite spot with a lovely view. It offered a large round table and chairs and 2 Adirondack chairs. Night sky perfect for star gazing. We caught several meteors. We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere yet were close enough for some spectacular day trips such as the Cabot Trail. We enjoyed the small communities surrounding us. Red Shoe Pub recommended for food, drink and live music!
My husband and I had the house to ourselves but it would suit a family as well. We miss it already!

For the benefit of readers, I note that the measured distance to the beach is just under 600 meters and just under 0.4 miles. While many guests enjoy walking the groomed nature trail for a little exercise, we plan to put in a new driveway which will give guests an option to drive to within 300 feet of the beach beginning in the late spring of 2025.

Peaceful beautiful location

Other houses are also located on the property but are out of sight from each other offering privacy. The house is comfortable with everything needed for the best of stays. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a retreat with easy access to the rest of Cape Breton.
