Only booked as there was a restaurant, but….

I’d booked this hotel to break up 2 long drives. The only reason I chose it was that there was an on site restaurant. Was informed the restaurant was not going to be open via an email a few hours before we arrived. Frankly I wouldn’t have booked had I known this beforehand.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are via an outside door. You go outside and round the corner of the building into the restaurant to find staff Good restaurant when it is open. Beautiful surroundings, Rolling fields and hills. 2 problems Fridge had not been checked and some kind of milk product spilt in the bottom. Cleaning over site. I did not use the fridge. Checking out very odd 8.45am no one to be found anywhere. Restaurant closed. No answer to ringing bells. No where to put the metal keys. No post box at closed restaurant doors. Waited till 9.05am hoping the restaurant might open. It did not. In the end just had to leave keys in room door lock and leave. Also occurred to me how you might get any breakfast if the restaurant is closed at 9.05am but anyway I did not need that.
