After holiday Getaway

Beautiful
Posted Oct. 22, 2024 on HomeAwayA great place for a quiet couples weekend. We absolutely loved everything about the caboose. There are 2 little wineries walking distance from the caboose which are great. We will be staying again.

Birthday getaway

Caboose stay

Nice caboose, misleading pictures
Posted Jun. 22, 2024 on HomeAwayThe caboose was a really cool place to stay! However the description of the property and the pictures are misleading. The caboose is parked about 50 ft from the owners home, just across the driveway. The hot tub is in view of the owners back deck as well, so not a lot of privacy there. There is also another site they rent right next to the caboose for RV/campers, so not a lot of privacy overall. The property is located in a busy fork in the road, so traffic noise was always present. The creek is there, but it is small, very overgrown and hard to access. The caboose was very clean and nice to stay in, but overall I thought the price was far too high for the reality of the location.

The caboose/deck are significantly higher than the surrounding property, thus less visible, and we go out of our way to provide privacy for guests. We've even added a small privacy wall to cover the hot tub/deck and are growing vines to protect it more
You visited our location during the height of practice for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb so nearby traffic is heavier than average. The central location is one of the biggest advantages of this location and its proximity to so many activities
We purposefully leave the native plants along the creek because we want to protect Colorado's wetlands and help local fauna thrive. We specifically state in our description that guests are welcome to explore the whole property. Guests are welcome to go on the bridge or access it easier from the patio area. The creek might be small by some standards but for Colorado it's large with a flow of over 20 cubic feet per second and flows year round
Regardless, we hope this doesn't come across as defensive only want to share for any future guests that we take feedback seriously and love to share this beautiful property.
