Hotel is being renovated so think twice

When we booked this hotel, NOWHERE on the Hotels.com site did it say this hotel was being renovated. When we pulled up to the hotel, we thought it was condemned or abandoned because there were boarded up windows, and missing trim around the windows that were not boarded up. We tried to enter the building to see if it was open and the night manager was trying to put a mirror in her car and we had to wait 10 minutes while we watched her try to fit this mirror into her car. She finally gave up and unlocked the entrance door and entered the lobby and finally checked us in. We had a long 12 hour drive and was woken up at 6 am with fire alarms going off. It was a false alarm from the construction. Then we were woken up again at 8 am to the constant pounding and construction noise from the room above us and below us. We called down to the front desk to complain but their response was that it was on Hotels.com web site that they were under renovations, which it isn’t. We later went down to speak with Uma, the owner, we believe and she only offered to move us to a different room. That wasn’t going to help, because they were not renovating a certain floor or hall. It was willy nilly renovations, a room here or there. We couldn’t escape the noise. Uma wasn’t very nice to us when we brought it up to her again that nowhere on Hotels.com website was it listed under renovation, but she kept insisting it was. She was rude and didn’t care about our inconvenience. Terrible stay.

I apologize for the inconvenience renovation is always a challenge while the guests are at the property, we have two projects going on at the hotel, windows replacement and rooms make over, there are not a single window which are boarded at the hotel. We offered you for room move but you were not agreeing to that. I am the Manager here for three years, all our guests return to us for our best customer service and loyalty we have with our guests and staff. I hope you give us another chance after our renovation project is doneThanksUmaGM

Sleep in your car rather than staying here!

When looking for a hotel I searched pet friendly hotels and it was one that came up, we arrived at the property in Ohio which we live in Texas and walked in carrying our chihuahua and the lady at the desk checked us in with no problem and didn’t say anything about us having our dog with us, the next day we get an email from American Express letting us know that our card had been charged an additional 150$ from the hotel so I called to ask what the charge was for and she said it was a fee for the dog and that the dog could not come back to the hotel and that they don’t allow pets, again we live in Texas and are in Ohio so I can’t leave my dog somewhere! So we went to the hotel and they had locked us out of rooms with all our stuff inside and had to go to the desk to get them to unlock the door to get our things, she first said she got in trouble by her manager for letting us stay with the dog and then tried to change the story saying the manager saw us taking the dog in the back door which would be impossible considering we didn’t have a key and all doors are key entry, thankfully I called American Express and they handled everything and got everything refunded back to us, I’d recommend sleeping in your car rather than staying at this hotel!

We are not pet friendly and its also on Expedia website, also we are a non smoking hotel, which you didn't follow the policies, if there is a pet guests suppose to update front desk, which was never communicated. First floor no sleep

Don;t stay on the first floor. It was very noisy. people on the second floor started showering and getting ready at 4:00am. We were awaken and it didn't stop until around 6:00am.
