Someone obviously put a lot of care into building this place and in cultivating the gardens and grounds, it's really lovely. The concierge, Ricardo goes above and beyond to be helpful and accommodating, he's wonderful. Having said that, he's also a bit short staffed so things are a bit untidy-the gardens need attention, the lobby isn't always picked up but the beauty and tranquility of the location and the pleasant but simple rooms make it worthwhile. If you are used to luxury then this will not be for you but if you tend to stay in hostels, this is a big upgrade. It's pleasant to sit in the garden and see the wild guinea pigs scampering around and to see and hear the wide variety of birds. If I'm ever in Copacabana again, this is where I'll be staying.

Ecolodge?

Reception staff were not that helpful and didn't provide any info about anything. Maybe some bicycle and kayak hire would be a good option. Overpriced at $50 a night

The hotel is OK, but far from downtown.

The hotel is quite far from downtown (30 minutes walking, therefore at night it is necessary to use taxi.
