Welcome to Villa Panayia!


One of the largest villas on the north-west coast of Corfu, Villa Panayia has the most spectacular sea views from all rooms. It overlooks the panoramic bay of Agios Georgios to the south and benefits from the stunning sunset view over Arillas and islands beyond - a mesmerising and unforgettable scene that will stay with you long after your holidays.

This spacious villa (2583sq ft / 240m2) is spread over 3 floors with 4 double/twin bedrooms each with their own large separate bathroom and balcony. Features include air conditioning in bedrooms, WiFi throughout, well-equipped kitchen, and separate indoor and outdoor dining areas all with amazing views. For families we do have cots available and an additional single 'z-bed'.

The villa is a short distance from both Arillas and Agios Georgios beaches. It is located near the cliff top village of Afionas, reputed to be one of the prettiest villages of Corfu. Arillas beach is a fantastic sandy beach with shallow water ideal for families with young children. Agios Georgios has crystal clear waters and is one of the most beautiful crescent bays on the whole of Corfu.

This is a family owned villa and we as a family have been coming to Corfu for the last 45 years. Over the years we have visited 40 other Greek islands and felt this location in Corfu was the perfect place to build our villa. We enjoy exploring all over the Island but always conclude the mix of fantastic beaches, dramatic scenery, numerous hiking trails, friendly locals and great selection of family-run tavernas contribute to the wonderful ambience of our local area.

There is also a very well stocked supermarket and fruit/vegetable shop 1km from the villa.

Corfu airport is approximately 35km from the villa (about 50 minutes drive). Private transfer is possible however car hire is recommended if you want to explore the local area and beyond.

Exterior:

• To the west side of our villa is a spacious outdoor terrace with an infinity pool overlooking Arillas and the islands beyond. There are comfortable sun loungers and table and chairs where you can relax on the quiet pool terrace. In the evening, you can enjoy the breathtaking sunset views.
• To the east side of our villa is an outdoor dining terrace with extensive BBQ, pergola and comfortable seating area overlooking the gorgeous Agios Georgios and the mountains beyond. You can also enjoy breakfast on the first floor terrace as the sun rises over the distant mountain of Pantokrator.
• There is ample parking space for numerous cars.

Interior:

• 4 bedrooms – There are 2 spacious twin bedrooms and 1 double bedroom on the ground floor and 1 twin bedroom on the second floor (we call it the ‘honeymoon’ suite!). Each room has its own en-suite bathroom / shower and good size private furnished balcony. You will be able to see all the individual rooms in the photos together with a picture of their en-suite bathroom.
• Kitchen – The modern kitchen is on the first floor and is well equipped with microwave, oven with ceramic glass hob, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, cutlery/crockery, cooking pots/pans.
• Dining room & lounge. The kitchen opens to a large dining area space with floor to ceiling windows again benefitting from the sea views. Beyond that is a comfortable lounge area featuring high-vaulted traditional ceiling.
• Separate 1st floor shower-room/toilet.
• Shelving with selection of books/family games.
• Children facilities - A cot, children mattresses and high chairs can be provided at your request.
• Utility room – Washing machine and ironing board.
• Bathroom towels and linen are provided.

Wonderful holiday
I have been travelling to various Greek islands for over 30 years and think this is one of the loveliest areas in which I have stayed - beautiful, verdant tree-covered mountains, and very pretty beaches. The villa is large and well-equipped situated high on a hill with wonderful views of the sea and sunsets. We are a family of six (four children aged 10, 15, 17, 19) and all agreed that this was one of the best holiday we have enjoyed. If you like walking there are around 5 excellent beaches 30-40 minutes away; although some of these are crowded in August, with a bit of hunting we found a small beach down a small, steep track with only 2 other people on it, and the snorkelling and coasteering here was excellent. Similarly, we found several good restaurants also within walking distance; the nearest is the Night Owl (around 10 mins). There is also an excellent supermarket fairly close by (around 1.5 miles), which has a great selection of skewers and meats for barbecuing. Although we hired a car for the duration of our stay (from Arillas cars - excellent [also for airport transfer]), in retrospect this was probably not needed (if you are willing to walk). Organising our stay was straightforward, and Fiona provided detailed instructions before our arrival which were very useful. Overall, a great holiday that we thoroughly enjoyed.

Wir waren mit allem sehr zufrieden. Es war alles vorhanden. Sehr großzügige Schlafzimmer mit Klimaanlage und Zugang zum eigenen Bad. Im Wohnbereich keine Klimaanlage, daher im Hochsommer sehr warm. Toller Ausblick, jeden Abend Sonnenuntergang beobachtet. Pool ausreichend groß. Gemütliche Sitzecken, toller Grillbereich. Auffahrt zum Haus sehr steil. Mit unserem 9 Sitzer schon eine Herausforderung. Zum Strand kleine Wanderung, daher sind wir immer mit dem Auto gefahren. Das braucht man schon. Kleiner Ort mit netten Tavernen. Night owl (typisch griechisch mit guter Küche) und Panorama Taverne mit traumhafter Aussicht sehr zu empfehlen. Wir haben es genossen.

Outstanding Villa with uniques views
We spent a week with our grown up kids and partners (total of eight) in the phantastic Villa in Afionas. I did quite some research before choosing this Villa for our special trip and I am so glad I did, because it was the perfect place for us. Spacious, so you can seperate and/or meet just as you like and all of us just loved the views you have from the different outside spots around the house. A Perfect Week
Eight of us went for a very special week in Corfu and the villa was amazing. The photos online really do not do it justice - it is lovely in everyway. Claire our 'housekeeper' was fantastic, any queries/requests we had she sorted promptly including organising a fabulous lady to come to the villa to administer massages, heaven. We ate at the villa some nights and went down to Arillas on others. I am confident we will return to this wonderful place. Amazing holiday
We have just returned from a fabulous holiday at Villa Panayia. A group of 2 families we had lots of space. The villa is exactly as per the pictures and the views are beautiful. There are 3 lovely beach resorts nearby with plenty of tavernas and small shops. Our favourite was the sandy beach at Arillas. Fiona was super helpful in answering any questions we had beforehand and accomodated our rebooking after my husband was ill - thank you. Claire who looks after the villa was fabulous and made sure we had everything we needed. Nothing was too much trouble. We arranged a transfer to the villa/airport with local company Arillas cars and they also dropped off and collected 2 hire cars for use during our stay. This was so easy and hassle free. We all had an amazing holiday and would highly recommend this villa to anyone.

Amazing villa, unforgettable stay
Fiona's villa is absolutely incredible. The views of the Ionian sea are breathtaking, and the pool was a real in the Corfu heat. En suite bathrooms in each of the four bedrooms, lots of nooks on verandas and balconies, a beautiful main room with living area, dining room and kitchen - every aspect of this home is delightful. We loved the proximity to Afionas, a 5 minute drive, where we ate dinner nightly. This was certainly one of our best vacation rentals ever.

Wir haben hier eine wunderschöne Urlaubswoche verbracht. Die Villa und der Pool bieten so viele Möglichkeiten für Urlaubsvergnügen, dass wir auch mal einen ganzen Tag gar nichts unternommen, sondern einfach im Haus und auf den Terrassen gechillt haben. Villa on the Hill
Superb living accommodation on the middle floor which is cleverly designed with an elevated dining area in the centre of an open area including kitchen, dining and lounge areas. The panoramic views from here were fantastic. As we had a couple of rain affected days (luck of the draw in October!), we made use of the good selection of DVDs on the high quality equipment. Bedrooms are large, comfortable and peaceful. Electricity was knocked out a couple of times caused by storms but this was fixed quickly. Had on or two hot water issues which I believe were down to the storms affecting the electric. Outdoor dining area is substantial and the built in BBQ is a great asset. Could not find any logs to use on the fire pit or the fire place in the lounge - we could have tried to buy some but didn't get around to it. Pool is more of a plunge pool rather than a swimming pool but in hot weather, this would be a lovely place to cool off and take in the amazing view out towards the islets and the island of Mathraki. Sunsets are spectacular here. One good restaurant in walking distance (Night Owl) and many more a short drive away. The one we enjoyed the most was Anemos in Afionas. Would definitely recommend this villa.

Great property in one of the nicest areas of Corfu.
The villa is located on a hill which gives incredible views into the Agios Georgios bay and the coastline up to Arillas. If you love a sunset, then this villa and area of Corfu could quite possibly provide some of the most amazing sunset views any where in the world. The villa is very spacious with amazing panoramic views from the various balconies and large living room area. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) so the 3 ground floor double bedrooms were perfect for us. My wife’s sister was also holidaying with us so the separate top floor double bedroom was ideal as this gave her some space of her own. The villa is in a good location with a number of great restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute drive. There are plenty to choose from if you jump in the car and pop into either Arillas or Agios Georgios, our favourites being Ammos Beach Bar or Thalassa Restaurant in Arillas or Katoi Restaurant in Agios Georgios. However, if you want something a little bit special which is ideally situated to really make the most of these very special Corfu sunsets it’s well worth visiting the places below. One of our favourites was the Panorama restaurant which is about a 5 minute drive on the road up to Afionas. There is also Porto Timoni restaurant which is about 5 mins further past the Panorama restaurant right on the tip of the Porto Timoni peninsula. There is a car park at the restaurant but the road leading to this is very narrow. Another great bar / restaurant well worth a visit to get the most of the evening sunsets is Molino Seaside Cocktail Bar which is at the far southern end of Agios Georgios beach down a tiny bumpy dirt track right along the edge of the shore line. Another very popular and worthwhile visit is 7th Heaven Restaurant at Logas Sunset Beach. This is about a 25 minute drive but well worth the drive - make sure you book a day in advance though. As well as stuffing your face with food the villa is also ideally located to be in a nice quiet rural position, but still within easy driving distance for all the local amenities such as supermarkets, ATM’s and bars etc all easily accessible in Arillas or Agios Georgios. We hired a small speed boat for the afternoon from San Stefano on Arillas beach. This was good value and great way to explore the local coastline. All in all we had a fantastic week in this lovely villa, and were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the island of Corfu is, especially the North West area.

Fantastic villa with the most amazing views!
We are a family of 4 with two children aged 9 and 7 and stayed in Villa Panayia in August 2018. Fiona provided us with useful essential info before we left and there was a book of suggestions and local info at the villa which became our bible! We had a wonderful two weeks. The villa is very spacious with loads of storage space in each of the bedrooms. The kitchen is very well equipped for those who want to cook. There’s an outdoor BBQ area which we used a few times. But the best thing about this villa is the location and views - simply stunning I never tired of looking at them and oh the sunsets!! It felt a bit decadent having such a large house to oursevies. It would easily fit 2 families / family with grandparents or a few couples. There were so many balconies terraces and seating areas we barely managed to use them all in our 2 weeks! We’d never been to Corfu before but the surrounding area is beautiful. Three lovely beaches all within a very short drive (and easy to park even in August). There are some lovely local restaurants within walking distance in Afionas and a short drive into Arillas. The restaurants also have stunning views and weren’t too crowded. Local people were so friendly and welcoming. All in all a fantastic holiday and we would love to go back.
