Time for myself weekend

Disappointing
Publié le 1 oct. 2023 sur HomeAwayHad no access to the lake due to overgrown weeds. Fishing boat and canoe were unusable. Walking paths were nowhere to be found other than 3 paths that went about 100 yards and ended in the same place. Tiny AC in room couldn't keep the room under 90 degrees. Got stung multiple times in the boat shed. I would not stay there again or recommend it to anybody else. Extremely overpriced and misrepresented online.

We are sorry you were disappointed in your stay. During your stay, the highs were around 105 degrees which makes any A/C unit work very hard. We contract with a professional service for insect control it is, however, very difficult to control where insects nest especially in a shed. We will be extra vigilant in the future when looking for insects. The lake has been low due to drought but is accessible through the dock as I mentioned in our phone call when you asked for a refund. Both the boat and canoe are in working order and available to guests. Trails are cut in the woods as described with five acres available - we will add directional signs to the trails for future guests - thank you. Everything outlined in the listing is accurate aside from the current and forecasted weather conditions.

Magical Weekend

Great location not well kept
Publié le 5 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe were very disappointed, we couldnt fish around the lake due to the overgrowth and no paths leading to the lake, would of loved to try the boat or canoe there was no easy way of getting it on the water with so much overgrowth even around the dock! The boathouse was unkept, fishing gear all over,the life jackets had either mouse or bird feces all over them. The window air conditioner in the corncrib did not keep up with heat and we even cleaned the plugged dirty filter and that did not help. You advertised hiking paths we did not find any hiking paths... we planned and paid for this resorvation a year in advance based on your advertisement. We ended up leaving early...

We are truly sorry you were disappointed in your stay. Had you communicated with us we may have been able to help. We can’t control the weather and you may not have known SE Nebraska has been in a drought for several months and the lake level is low hence the growth where water once stood. Other guests have been using the dock to put in boats as you probably noticed while you were there. Had you asked we could have shown you the trail.

Great lil Get-a-Way

Cute in a Midwest Way
Publié le 3 août 2023 sur HomeAwayWe arrived late night on a Friday and left Saturday evening. Had bad weather on arrival night which cleared up by morning. So couldn’t get the full view of the scenery until we woke up.
Pros: Cool midwest scenery out in the middle of nowhere. Cabin has a unique look to it. Everything you need is available and ready to be used. Owner was super attentive and assisted with a knob issue immediately when it happened. Lots of photo opportunities. Very closed in and quiet Cept the outside ambience. Had reception from both AT&T and Verizon cell phones out there.
Cons:
A few bugs were inside but not worrying nuance. Rails for stairs is a bit loose. Very hot once we arrived and took a couple hours before it got to a cooler temperature than it was outside. Bed wasn’t super comfortable. Kept dog away from lake to be safe.
