Wonderful experience

Great Cabin with short drive to Tallahassee
Publié le 4 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It felt like we were hours outside of town, but were only a 30 minute drive from Tallahassee. It is just what we needed. Clean and rural as can be. My favorite thing was fishing and having coffee as the sun rises on the dock over the river with nothing but the occasional sounds of nature to accompany us. The cabin was stocked with everything you need. The host was very friendly and responsive as well. We will be back with a kayak/canoe to enjoy the river even more! Thank you!!

Excellent river vacation

Relaxing River Retreat
Publié le 24 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe setting of the cottage on the river is beautiful! We enjoyed sitting on the back porch and fishing from the dock. The cottage was well stocked and very clean. The host was very responsive. We would definitely stay here again.

A hidden gem!

Due to rain every day of our stay, we weren't able to take advantage of the nearby hiking trails (many of them identified in the cabin's welcome binder). Carolyn is an amazing hostess with great communications and a knack to foresee your needs. We highly recommend this property.

Thanks for your review. My goal is always to provide anything a guest needs. I am retired from teaching for 43 years and do miss my children. The Retreat keeps me busy and sharing the Retreat is always a joy. I appreciate your kind words.

Old Florida at its best

So happy you were able to see the manatees everyday. In the summer, they come down the river and then in the Winter swim back to the springs. Our river does not have a lot of traffic so it is usually safe for them. Thanks so much for your review. Hope, you will return to stay at the Retreat.

Nature's sweet spot in Tallahassee
Publié le 30 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayMy boyfriend and I came down to escape the big city and have some alone time together. This home was exactly what the doctor ordered. We saw so much wildlife, from manatees and sea otters, to deer and alligators. We just threw our kayak on the river and floated on. All the human neighbors are super friendly also. 10/10 would recommend

Thanks,Helen. Loved reading your review and having you stay at the Retreat. The Retreat is perfect for folks to sit back and relax while taking in all the sights and sounds around the river. The swing on the screen porch was build by my husband and has always been my favorite place to sit. Glad you enjoyed our little spot on the river!

Second Time - Loved It Again!
Publié le 11 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwaySuch a great retreat and environment, quiet, clean and unspoiled. We had kayaks delivered to the house and there is a great kayak launch right there on the property.
The host again was so responsive and all amenities for comfort and convenience were provided over and above expectations. You will love that porch facing the river!

Our ramp to help you launch your kayas I hope was helpful. The river is great! So slow moving so you can enjoy the surroundings. Going up to the head of the river is easy and then the river will slowly bring you back to the cabin. Glad you were able to see birds along the way. Thanks for your review.
