The property was well situated and the common areas were nicely decorated. The desk staff were excellent: pleasant and helpful. Included breakfast was average "grab and go." Our biggest disappointment was with our room. It bore no resemblance to the pleasant and well decorated rooms shown on the inn website. It was a bare-bones room that was worn out: no hot water in the sink, drawers that would not properly pull out, unit needed painting and upgrading, etc. Not at all what we expected.

We're so glad you enjoyed our cozy lobby area and helpful staff. We are sorry that you didn't find breakfast to your liking. We are the only hotel that offers free breakfast on the mountain and try our best to provide ample options for our guests - granola, cereal, danishes, bagels/croissants/bread, breakfast burritos/sandwiches, fruit, yogurt, juices, cheese, etc. We're also very sorry that the room was not up to standard. If you stay with us again, please let us know about issues as they arise. We could have certainly fixed the hot water for you and tinkered with any drawers that did not want to open. Hope to get to host you again and make your experience a better one.

Rustic chalet in incredible location

We stayed in the detached chalet at the Nordic Inn which was perfect for our family (5 adults, 1 pup). There were 2 queen beds sharing a bathroom on the spacious loft floor, and 2 smaller bedrooms sharing a bathroom on the first floor, where there was also a kitchen and small living room. There was no dining room but plenty of space for eating on either the front porch or upstairs porch. Amazing central location, expansive views, and ample parking. Being able to ride our bikes directly to the MTB trails was awesome. Could use some more chairs on the porches, but luckily we brought some of our own folding chairs for lounging. The property is outdated and somewhat run down but everything worked fine. Very dog friendly!

I booked the Inn after reading numerous positive reviews, especially about the staff, but our experience was entirely different. We had a long flight from Boston to Denver, then drove from Denver to Crested Butte in heavy rain. When we arrived at the Inn around 5:00 PM, we were soaking wet and were greeted in the worst possible way. There was no one at the front desk to check us in, just a note stating that the staff was unavailable and that keys for guests who had not yet checked in were left on the table. However, I couldn't find our key. I called the number on the note at the front desk, but no one answered. Then I called the number in my booking, only to hear the phone at the front desk ring. I contacted Expedia for assistance, but they were unable to help, stating it was peak season and no local staff were available. We waited for about 30 minutes, and still, no one came. Finally, I called the number on the note again, and a man named Ryan answered. He arrived 10 minutes later, yelled at us as if we were at fault, checked us in with a terrible attitude, and did not apologize. When I asked if the service was always this bad, he stared at me and claimed he didn’t understand what I was saying. He handed me the key, slammed the door in my face, and drove off in his Jeep in a very rude manner. After a long flight and a rainy drive, being welcomed in such a terrible way was unimaginable. However, at least we were finally able to check in.

Nordic Inn - not ideal for a summer visit

The good: It's in a nice location, it is quiet and the staff are excellent and bed was comfortable. Great ice machine with a good supply. Also, our room had a ceiling fan that worked quietly. And that was vital because ... The bad: There is no A/C and 9,400 feet above sea level you seldom need it. We needed it. Very hot night in late July and the noisy window fan they have doesn't do the job, plus you would have to leave the window blinds (facing south!) open to run the fan, so too bright in the room if you do that. The Continental Breakfast was not so great, but at least there was yogurt. The hot water was tricky - the distance on the faucet mixer between not enough and way too much was very narrow. If you can wash your hands in those sinks for two days without once yelping in pain, you are better than us!

We are always happy to provide additional fans to cool off our guests rooms, should they ask. Additionally, we try to provide as many options as we can for our breakfast - from yogurt and granola to breakfast burritos and sandwiches, croissants and cereal to fruit and juices, and so much more. We are also the only hotel on the mountain that offers a complimentary continental breakfast free of charge. If you stay with us again in the future, do let us know if you are having problems with your water temperature (or anything else), and we will address it promptly. We cannot fix guest problems unless we know that something is going on. Thanks so much!

I loved the location on the mountain and the easy front door parking. I also loved the common areas. They were warm, comfortable, and authentic. Great gathering areas inside. I missed having somewhere to sit outside. The dining room was so nice and cozy. The food was simple but ample and more than minimal requirement. The rooms were also nice and clean and completely adequate minus the worn out mattress and box springs. The springs literally squeeked, and the mattress sagged where i layed. Any time my husband rolled over, i got bounced. That part was very frustrating. Every employee i came in contract with was kind and helpful. If not for the bed problem, i would certainly recommend this as a really nice place to stay without spending money to look at new fancy things. The facility has aged gracefully! In case you are wondering which bed, it was 111.

We're so sorry you did not find the bed to your liking. Everyone has different bed preferences, and it is very hard to provide beds to everyone's personal taste. That being said, we did have a look at the bed in 111 and will be replacing the box spring and mattress topper - so thanks for bringing those to our attention.
