Publié le 22 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayGreat location to ATV trails. Saw elk right around the corner of the property! Place was clean and rustic. Nice outdoor space to enjoy nature and have a nice fire. The only negative was that the bed in the main bedroom was not very comfortable. Everything else was fine. Would return.

2023 Music Festival
Publié le 15 août 2023 sur HomeAwayProperty was something that I was aware of from being at Quiet Oaks Campground for years. Good shape, perfect location for all of my needs. Had everything that I was looking for in a peaceful setting. Cabin was well maintained and well taken care of. Several issues of note were that the cabin smelled musty upon arrival and had to open doors and widows to air it out. Secondly, I understand that the water was not for consumption, but there was a sediment issue in the toilet after flushing and lead me to wonder how safe the water was to bathe in? The main issue that I discovered was that even though I was given advance directions at my request, it would have been nice to have been made aware of the location of the lockbox prior to arrival. I spent time to find out how to physically lock the place when I didn't know where to find a key. Having said all of this, I would most definitely use the facility again. Thanks.

Thank you for your review. I apologize about your difficulty with the lock box. We have not had issues with guests not seeing where it was in the past. We have actually changed our locks to digital codes so hopefully that will make things easier. We have also never had complaints about mustiness. We go up there several times/year to stay and I agree that when you first come in you can tell the windows haven't been opened for up to a week depending when the last guest was there. I would call it stuffy though as there is no moisture anywhere. Regarding the water, I have been told by everyone who has lived in that area for years that yes the water can get a little "sediment" due to lack of rain. And at times the wells up in that area can run dry. It's just a part of being in the mountains up there. I apologize that this caused you concern. I have never heard that the water is unsafe to bathe in, and we utilize long time locals to help maintain our property and work on our plumbing. We hope to have you come stay again in the future if you're comfortable with the accommodations. Have a blessed year!

We wished there had been more outside seating on the porch and around the fire pit. We were not aware that the breaker had to be turned on for the water pump and water heater. I rated the online listing and communication a three because there wasn’t much information provided.

Thank you for the review Jean. I greatly apologize as there had been a delay in replacing the chairs around the fire pit, which will be done this weekend. We do have the porch swing, but will also be adding some seating to the porch this weekend as well as it has been a popular request. I am also sorry about the miscommunication regarding the switch for the hot water heater and pump. I will make sure that is noted in our instructions. We are always available by phone call or message in the vrbo app if you have questions during your stay.
