Lovely house overlooking Cuba Lake
Publié le 14 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis property was as described - quaint, cozy and conveniently located. We had a family reunion over the long weekend and found that the property included almost everything we needed.
We did have a problem connecting to the WIFI. The password would not work and we had to reboot the nest and the router which meant changing to the factory password. We reached out to the host through text, phone and through the VRBO app and it took many hours for her to respond. By then, our son had figured it out but that was 36 hours into the visit. Sounds like no big deal - it was nice not to have TV - but it severely limited our ability to connect with the outside world. We have T-mobile and there was zero cell service in the house. We stood on the porch to talk or text and without WIFI our communication was very limited.
But - we enjoyed our stay. Cuba is a cute community and we had a fabulous breakfast at the Kopper Keg on Main Street. All in all, a wonderful experience.

Thank you very much for the constructive review, Deborah. We should have let you know that we contacted the internet provider and they had responded with a "best effort" to get out to you ASAP. They were able to do some diagnostics remotely but looked like the hardware was disconnected. Our apologies for the inconvenience and kudos to your problem-solving abilities!!! We know that being in rural NY can come with some connectivity issues. Thank you, again, and hope to host you again.

We do not advertise or promote this property to provide AC. Nothing changed in the description of this property from when the guest reserved the home. It seems a bit unfair to be critiqued on something we do not offer.

Family vacation
Publié le 9 août 2023 sur HomeAwayThe property was beautiful the view was amazing..we loved being on the lake..very easy to rent pantoon boat for the day...only downside is there is no central AC only fans to some that may not matter but it made for uncomfortable sleeping.. overall I would stay again.. very clean home..the fire at night was wonderful!

Perfect for us!
Publié le 20 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe had the best week enjoying all aspects of the guest house from the outdoor swing, fire pit, big backyard, front porch chairs with great view to family dinners around the big table with a kitchen equipped with everything we needed to prepare those meals! Relaxing conversations in the comfy living room! Our host Aimee was quick to return any messages we sent or questions we asked! In everyone’s opinion it was a great experience!!

Cute house, nice location
Publié le 8 déc. 2022 sur HomeAwayThe good; the house is cute and an earshot to the lAke. Weather is good in even winter months so you can walk around easily. It is fast to get to olean and Cuba to shop and walk around, get food, etc.
House is laid out well, the upstairs is huge and the living space is good. It was clean, and the yard is a good size. The kitchen had everything needed ans the bathrooms had so many towels. The oven worked really nice. There are ladybugs EVERYWHERE they were not bothersome but there are sure a lot of them. My kids loved it.
The bad:
The water does not smell great, maybe we’ll water, I am not sure but it was sulfuric smelling “eggs”.
There is no phone service. I have ATT and when my family members who live in the area visited they also did not have phone service. This was not a huge deal for me, but I can see how it could be for someone else staying here.
The heat: is hard to work
The check out time; different on the posted info on the refrigerator than what is emailed and advertised (not a huge deal)
This WILL be the house I now stay in when I go to olean.

While the house does have a brand new water filtration and softener system installed, we are aware of the high mineral count in the well water. While it may be therapeutic ; ), it does have a bit of smell. We will continue to explore ways the alleviate it but happy to hear you will be back. You'll be welcome.

Clean and close to grocery store. A must do is to visit the Cuba cheese shop.
