What a Gem!

Posted Mar. 9, 2024 on Hotels
Amazing stay, convenient to downtown shops and dining. Self serve from beginning to end. Sharing the Bathroom wasn’t an issue or an inconvenience . On street parking was safe. There a a carport to with charging capacity for EVs. Continental breakfast was fresh and delightful. Game room, gardens and full kitchen at the guest disposal. All rooms lock with a code for extra security. Street noise was quiet after 10 pm and before 6am. Hostess responsive to texts; price was competitive and yet accommodation was homey and cozy compared to chain hotels. House, grounds and beds were clean and tidy. Towels soft and thirsty, shower had great water pressure. Green house plants look beautiful and keep air clean, dog and family friendly. Met some really great people there! Would stay again if in the area! Well done, Stephen!

Great old house with 3 guest rooms plus a cottage outback. We really enjoyed the game room and the Continental breakfast was actually elegant. My own reservation about our experience was the parking. The instructions were not accurate and also not consistent with what we read online.

Hi Allison,I am glad you enjoyed your stay. We really try hard to make a special experience for our guests. I am sorry there was confusion about parking. We have on-street parking in front of the house and guests can also park off-street in our carport, which holds 2 vehicles. I typically instruct folks to park in front of the house, on the same side of the street as the house. I apologize if these instructions were not clear or consistent. For guests with an EV, we also have two destination chargers in the carport that are perfect for overnight stays. I hope you will come back for another stay soon so we can make an even better stay, especially where parking is concerned.Best,Stephen

West Park B&B

Posted Dec. 13, 2023 on Hotels
Nice, clean, well-appointed B&B in a quiet part of Culpeper away from the traffic but close enough to walk to Main and Davis Streets. Host is very accommodating and self-serve breakfast was certainly ample.

We had such a great stay at West Park Gardens. Stephen, the owner, went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect for us. The home is absolutely beautiful and has everything you need to be comfortable. The master suite is very spacious; bed is comfortable. Breakfast and coffee were wonderful, and he had some unique local foods. We loved playing in the game room, and our dog so enjoyed the fenced in back yard. The outdoor space was pretty amazing too. Just a great experience; and we hope to be back another time.

Dear Judith, Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review. I am thrilled that you had such a good time. The game room and backyard garden are big hits, especially for pet owners. I can't wait for your next visit.Best,Stephen

Check-in is through your phone. Hotel is an older house with plenty of character, and creaky floorboards. Be prepared to share the bathroom/shower if other guests have arrived (fortunately, we had the house to ourselves). Several rooms for relaxing, including a pool table, darts and boardgames. Garden is a pleasure. Parking is on the street.
