Beautiful log home tucked into the hills

This house was perfect in every way for our group. Lots of hiking and trail running, star gazing and silence. We loved our visit and appreciated how responsive the caretakers were. 10/10!

The cabin was beautiful and secluded. A perfect get-away for quiet mornings and extremely close to Wind Cave National Park!

Unpleasant

Beautiful setting…lovely log cabin. However, dirty, old, stained mattresses, sheets, comforters and pillows. We found live bedbugs, and had folks bitten in their sleep, and it ruined our family vacation, to say nothing of the worry of bringing something home with us. And to top that off, there were mouse droppings, and 2 live mice running around! I expect a premium place when paying these prices. Our worst experience yet.

Hi Laurie, we truly value all guest feedback but we are disheartened by this review, considering the efforts we made to address the issues during your stay. Upon learning of the problem in one bedroom, we immediately arranged for your group to stay in a hotel at our expense, issued a full refund, and were even happy to cover your groups' restaurant costs. In the end we refunded 100% of your stay and an additional $1,000 to try and make things right. We care deeply about the guest experience we provide and did our best to make the best of the circumstances. We also acted swiftly to bring in a professional exterminator and canceled all future reservations until the issue was fully resolved. While we sincerely regret the inconvenience you experienced, we're saddened that we can't prevent every problem. However, we do feel we went above and beyond to make things right. We're confident the property is ready to host guests again and will continue to provide the highest level of care to our guests. We'd love to talk more, if you're able to return our recent calls.

Wonderful location!

Our family has a wonderful and relaxing time at the cabin. Our kids all enjoyed the pool table. We especially loved having coffee off the deck in the mornings. It is so peaceful, all you can hear is the sounds of the forest. The house was nice and clean and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed hiking in Wind Cave National Park and saw lots of bison.
