Amazing cottage steps away from the beach

Posted Dec. 29, 2023 on HomeAway
Kay’s cottage is absolutely amazing. My family and I had such an amazing time in Hoi An because of this amazing place. Kay’s cottage is located steps away from amazing food options: cafe/bakeries, restaurants, bars. There is an excellent tailor right around the block and plenty of marts for you to purchase water or any quick needs. Kay communicated with me frequently. Ms. De who lived right next door was one of our favorite people — super kind and helpful. My family and I flew into Danang at 3am and Kay made sure we had a hot meal waiting for us, a kind detail that my family and I were so thankful for, and one that Kay & Ms. De didn’t have to do at all. The actually cottage is spacious. My teenage daughters loved having their own bathroom and room. Kay provided a small mattress for my toddler to sleep on. We made good use of the verandah — it is where I enjoyed my morning tea. The cottage is walking distance from the beach, which my kids and I loved. We used the bikes provided by the cottage to get around town — there was a little seat for my toddler to sit on while the rest of us rode our bikes around. If you are considering Kay’s cottage, stop looking and book already! You won’t be disappointed by the excellent service and amazing space.

Our time at Kay’s Cottage

A great little cottage close to An Bang beach and local restaurants. Nice to have a place to stay in a quiet street with a lovely verandah to watch the world go by.

For travelers that value privacy

Posted Apr. 3, 2019 on HomeAway
This home sits just a short walk from the touristy and night life loaded An Bang beach to the north. It is in a very up and coming area with in my opinion, better beaches than An Bang and small fun coffee shops and restaurants a short walk away. The downside to that is that construction is going on everywhere (in An Bang and this area). We were not negatively impacted with sounds or dust at Kay’s during our stay. What’s App pinned location was helpful for those trying to find us for tours. Like many areas in and around Hoi An, there will always be some noise from motorbikes etc. at night but the area is fairly quiet. Kay was responsive and Ms. De was there if we needed her during our 3 night stay. Nice to having a washing machine. There is a musty odor to the house which is somewhat expected in an older home in the tropics. Otherwise, can’t fault this house except it’s expensive I think. New small hotels are going in everywhere and pricing is competitive. Some newer small boutique hotels have ocean views, included breakfast and new bikes. Getting 2 separate rooms in a newer place is probably a better value.

Great accomodations for our family of 5

Perfectly located! Bike or walk to one of the many restaurants on the beach. Many have beach lounges and umbrellas available for free if you buy a beverage. Take Kay up on the offer of using her bikes. The bicycle ride to Hoi An is about 15 minutes if you take the main road Hai Ba Trung. I would suggest that you venture off the main roads and explore what the locals are doing. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood. It is secure, private and peaceful. The kitchen has the basics which was plenty for us as we didn't do any cooking. The patio is a delightful place to relax, read, play cards etc. Ms. De is next door if you should need anything. She has a kind and welcoming presence, when you want it. She is very respectful of the guests and seldom comes around. Ms. De doesn't speak English but is pretty good at communicating with hand/body language etc. Kay is easily accessible via email and very accommodating!

A sweet and chic neighborhood flat a 2minute walk to the beach

Posted Jan. 1, 2018 on HomeAway
All rooms have large doors that open to a common patio, filling this cozy contemporary flat with soft light. Though the common space is modest in size, it’s positives left us more than satisfied. Kay is a delightful and response host, the bathrooms leave you wanting to remodel your home, the proximity to the beach is perfect, the clean neighborhood location a 10 minute taxi ride away from Hoi An’s bustle, it’s simple contemporary style. We loved it as much as the housekeeper who would stop by to share her baby granddaughter. We loved it.

Überraschend genial, wie für uns gemacht : )

Posted Aug. 1, 2019 on HomeAway
