Never Again

Positive: on the lake, a/c worked well, updated bathrooms Negative: house reeked of stale cigarette smoke, dead roaches in fridge and coffee maker, ice maker too gross to use, dried food on old utensils, mattress had large dip in middle, moldy shower tile, dirty bath mats, broken kitchen faucet, terrible shower head, sheetrock and baseboard disrepair, dirty floors behind furniture and under beds, poor bedroom and bathroom lighting. Would never stay here again!

Nostalgic Lake Martin

This was a trip down memory lane for us as we spent 10 years on Lake Martin prior to making the move to full time lake life on Smith Lake in 2019. We brought the family back down and did all the things we remembered: goat island, peanut point, Ice cream at Windcreek and most importantly ate Chuck’s pizza for lunch 2 days straight! It was so close to the condo!! A great stay was had and some new memories made! Beds are SUPER comfy and the back porch is AWESOME! Thank you for a wonderful accommodation! We’re going to try to make this an annual tradition now!!

Great place for the weekend

Wife and I had a great time with two other couples who also have kids at Auburn. We invited the kids down on Friday and again on Sunday after the game it was fantastic

It’s a very quiet place to stay, great access to water. The owner was responsive. On the negative side, there were substantial issues with roaches, the floor was very dirty, under the beds must not have been cleaned in ages. If cleaned properly, I’d rate it 4 out of 5 (due to older furnishings and bedding).

Dirty House & Bugs

The location was great, right off the water. Unfortunately the house was very dirty. Your feet were black if you walked on the floors. We found bugs both dead & alive. We had to clean the kitchen, wash anything we used in the kitchen. House had a bad odor that they tried to cover up plug-ins. I hope the owners get a new housekeeper. We’ve never had a bad experience with VRBO, until this visit. 😒

Great location- dirty condo

The location was amazing. This condo needs repairs which I can deal with but the place was dirty. Dust balls everywhere, hair clips, miscellaneous items, etc under beds, dirty dishes in cabinets, green egg was so dirty we couldn’t use it. Locksmith had to come out because the door lock didn’t work upon arrival. Outside trashcan was not taken to the road and had a horrendous smell right by the front door with flies everywhere. Saw lots of roaches in the bed, on the walls etc. Pest control did come out and it helped some but no one called (only emailed) to notify they were coming. We were not there and had valuables out. Great price but the place wasn’t clean.

We did our best to address any concerns immediately. We pay for quarterly pest control service and they came immediately after the holiday weekend passed and have also come back since. We pay for professional housekeeping and have since had an additional deep clean. We have removed well-used pots and replaced with new ones. We did need to do this as we added so many. We had a locksmith at the villa within an hour of your having problems with the lock. We do not foresee this being a problem in the future with installing a new lock. We do pay for 2 trash cans to be rolled by the HOA to the road. Trash is rolled to road every Tuesday and picked up every Wednesday. We are constantly looking for things to do to make our home away from home better. We have many families that come back and treat it as their own who rent directly. We update linens annually.

We love staying here. It is convenient to the marina and it has a dock for a boat and you can bring your animal, which we love!

Needs some TLC

Positives: location, beds are comfy, view is beautiful Negatives: floors were not clean, beer left in freezer which had exploded leaving broken glass, no dishwasher detergent, “clean” towels were finally found still damp in dryer, holes & stains on master comforter & several of the bathroom linens, porch furniture was filthy, grass needs cut badly, kitchen cup found outside by lawn chair, porch railing needs repaired, pots & pans need replacing, moldy shower liner, broken blinds in bunk room, old dog poop in yard…I think that about covers it. Summary, great location, fair price, will not rent again.

We’re so glad you enjoyed the view. Our guest have for many years. We appreciate your concerns. We have addressed all of them. We have done an internal and external deep clean. Freshened up the paint, resecured any loose railing outside. We have hired a new housekeeper and landscaper. Which is doing a great job.!We have steam cleaned the floors. Our flooring is newly installed luxury vinyl plank. We have replaced linens, which we do so annually. We have addressed the liner and inventoried the kitchen. Our property is setup for families with 4 legged friends. All of our guest enjoy our 20x24 covered porch with a new charcoal grill, green smoker, million dollar view within walking distance of the golf course, pickle ball courts and private pool in a gated community.
