I always stay at Aloft Plano, it’s a nice hotel the rooms are clean and I know I can relax without any worties

Not as pet friendly any more

Aloft Plano is a decent value for the price. Saying that, they used to be pet friendly for free but now they have a $40 surcharge for pets. This was not advertised or expected so I am disappointed in that. This was a big reason we stayed at the Aloft historically but will likely look to see if other hotels in the area are more pet friendly without a big surcharge in the future.

The staff was 5 stars and all were friendly and helpful. I was here for work and stayed at this hotel due to the close proximity to where I was going to be working for a few days. The lobby and common areas were all very nice. Once I got to my room, it smelled moldy. I went right back downstairs and requested a new room. The employee was really kind and helpful and put me on another floor. I was disappointed when that room also smelled moldy. I could see that there was mold in the shower and it looked there there were spots on the ceiling that had been cleaned in the bedroom area. There was no way to crack the windows to allow fresh air in. I will be traveling to the area for business once a quarter and given the moldy smell, I will be choosing to stay at a different hotel on my next visit.
