I have stayed at this particular hotel 15 times with family over a span of 10 years and this was such a disappointment this time. Upon arrival, we were told we would have to have two separate rooms because they overbooked the room that I chose. This wasn’t that big of a deal and they got us right next to each other. That night we went to the downstairs bar for a drink and the bartender was just plain out rude. I figured he was having a bad night, so I just left it alone. My family the next day went to lunch and we were gone for a few hours. We came back to our room and we were hit with the worst smell of paint. This smell was so pungent that we couldn’t even go in all the way. The smell was coming from the vents. I go downstairs to tell the front desk, and they say they will call maintenance. Instead they called the cleaning service with some air freshener. She couldn’t even walk in the room because of the smell. She then calls maintenance and I waited for an hour waiting on someone to show up, then I finally went downstairs again to ask where maintenance was. This was really irritating because I had kids with me. When maintenance finally arrived, he confirmed the smell and I went back down to ask for new rooms. The front desk attendant said he could replace the one room and that it smelled like that because they painted in the room right under us. I reminded him that this was not our fault and that he should give us two new rooms to be with each other like we intended.
