Came to town for the Rangers game. The hotel was easy to access, friendly safe, clean and comfy room!

Let me start by saying, my credit card was "almost" in jeopardy but luckily I was smart enough to lock it before anything could come out.
Before I left to go to this hotel, I got a text that was an early check in, pay before you get there, kind of thing. Of course, I was excited and like, sure, I'll check in early, why not?!
I do all things, pay for my 2 nights which was a fixed rate of $179, right? Me and my kid, 2 nights, 2 beds, Thurs and Fri. No smoking, No big deal. Awesome. No problem.
Until I had a change of thought, and said, ya know what, I'll pay at the counter instead once I get there. I'm an old fashioned kind of gal, and like doing things face to face. Cool. So I lock my card just in case so the funds aren't taken out, and go to bed.
Next thing I know, I have a notification telling me my transaction of $284 has been declined. And then another one of $292 and yet another of $265!
Thank God I listening to my gut feeling because that would've been bad. Alright, moving forward. We get to the hotel - about a 3.5 hour drive, check in is at 3pm, we're tired and ready. Get to the counter and the lady there was super friendly, but had very choppy English. It was hard to understand what she was saying, but whatever, moving on.
I check in, only to be told my charge would be $232.99!!
What happened to my $179 fixed rate total?! Come to find out they charge an additional $50 non smoking fee regardless if you have already gotten a non-smoking room!!
