Excellent Location/Value for money

Love to stay at Monarch Beach. Owner is always wonderful to work with-the fully stocked kitchen and room for family and friends make the stay more than comfie. Heat works great. The beach vibe is appreciated. Can walk to beach, golf and restaurants. Owner very accommodating to visitors and family who like to come and visit while we stay at the condo. Will be back!

Ritz pointe nightmare

Furnishings dated, crowded, felt like storage depot. Washer made horrible thumping noise. Given wrong Wi-Fi code. Asked too many questions. Host used covid as an excuse for no shower mats or coffee pods. Gave us an hr to get out. Accused us of having doors & windows open making too much noise. It was so cold out, no doors or windows were open. We r all in our 70’s so the noise accusation is ridiculous! Talk about a pack of lies you have no rights with Vrbo, stay in a hotel!

Dana Point Condo

We had a nice time at Darlene’s wonderful condo in Dana Point. The location is really good with access to the local beaches within 10 minutes drive and good grocery stores and restaurants very nearby. You also can be in Laguna Beach or San Clemente is about 29 minutes which makes the location really desirable. The condo accommodated the four of us comfortably with its two bedroom/ two bath layout. Also the washer/dryer is a big plus. And, the whole complex is gated and protected by security which made us feel very secure. Lastly, Darlene was a good communicator and always answered our questions promptly.

The Area is What we were Looking For

It served our purpose. We were looking for something close to Waldorf Astoria where family was staying. The unit itself was OK but needs updating. Lots of lamps everywhere because the unit itself was dark. The owner was very responsive.

Stay Away from this condo!

I have rented many places with VRBO and this one was the worst! When we arrived the condo was not clean. We picked up 3 false nails in the kitchen from the previous people that stayed there. So the floors not vaccumed or mopped. The condo is a storage unit for the owners. It has so much furniture it is crazy. They have huge armoires in the bedroom that should hold TV but there are not TV just huge useless furniture. The main TV had scratches on it and streaming TV. We never heard of Pluto TV. It was not user friendly. We had no hot water for our last two days of our stay and told the owner and her reply was you need to check out then! Not, I will send a plumber just check out! In fact, she got so nasty, we did check out early! I would think twice, maybe three times not to rent this condo. The owner or property manager is CRAZY!

The property is always professionally cleaned and sanitized to COVID recommendations.. Neighbors complained about the unauthorized noise from pets that were not on the booking and smoking coming from the unit. Guest did not pay the pet fee. Smoking is NOT permitted on the property. When asked about the pets and smoking, guest reported that they checked out early. Guest did NOT check out at all. Guest then stated there was NO hot water. VRBO was contacted. Guest demanded ALL monies returned for entire booking when guest did NOT leave as stated. Furthermore, plumbing company had to be contacted to come to property as guest tampered with the hot water heater, turning off the pilot. Guest left ashes all over the property-inside and out. As stated in the listing and the HOUSE rules, Guests need to be honest. Leaving ashes all over the inside and the outside of the property is not acceptable and absolutely disgusting.

Comfortable 2 bedroom unit in great location to visit Dana Point area

We had a great short stay (2 days) while attending a family wedding in San Juan Capistrano. The unit was very comfortable for our family of 6 (all over 20) and the location perfect for us. Darlene was super helpful getting us checked in and most accommodating as we needed to get ready for the wedding on the day of check-in.

Horrible first experience with VRBO

The property was in dire need of maintenance. There was way too much furniture for the unit size...it seemed like it was a storage unit for the owner. It was an obstacle course getting to the washer/dryer located outside balcony. One rug corner near the restroom was curled up...a tripping hazard. The toilet seat was only held on by a single bolt which made for exciting seating. There was molding missing in both restrooms. The mattress was worn and we rolled to the center of the bed all night. While the washer was running there was very little hot water in the kitchen sink. An electrical outlet near the entry stand was so worn the plug would not stay plugged in. Too few outlets for todays technology. It is a very long walk to the beach. Buyer beware!

I am sorry that you were not happy with your stay-the photos posted on the listing is what is inside the unit. I also apologize that you demanded I make reservations at the driving range at the Monarch Hills Golf Club for you-there is no driving range there. The booking was for 2 people. The guards kept calling to share that they have denied entry to the other four people who shared that they were guests staying at the property. Unfortunately, when a booking is made for two people, the guest cannot simply have other people continue to attempt to enter both 24 hour staffed guard gates. The guards complained. There were complaints regarding your stay. It is unfortunate that the house rules were not followed. I wouldn't have known about the other guests had they simply entered the property in your vehicle. However, when multiple attempts to enter at different entrances were attempted and complaints made by the guards, VRBO was notified. Please do not engage in this behavior with other bookings-the number of guests in the booking must be truthful. Harassing guards that are not authorized to permit entry is not acceptable.
