Restaurant staff

Majority of the restaurant staff do not know how to (re)set the tables and generally how to serve guests. The hotel either needs to invest in training them or hire more motivated and trained staff.

The resort itself was nice, however it is loud and the service is extremely bad, waiting almost 30min for beverages when it's empty. The customer service was poor and only 1/10 staff speak English ( we are bilingual) causing a lot of incorrect orders. All in all it is absolutely not worth the 1000s of dollars we spent on it.

The beach had so much trash from the city. It was impossible to swim in the ocean. I am shocked that this hotel has not been shutdown just purely from health concerns.

Overall good experience and great rooms. Restaurant was quite slow to bring food after ordering so not great if you dining with children.

A jewel in Dar es Salaam

We loved White Sands Resort. We were six people in two one-bedroom apartments with a connecting door, just perfect for us. The kitchens were convenient, however one was not stocked at all and the other just had a few plates and a couple of forks and spoons. We didn't plan to do much cooking so didn't say anything about it, but probably the staff would have responded had we asked. Otherwise, the stay was perfect with excellent air conditioning and two pools plus lovely beach walks to choose from. Breakfast buffet was remarkable and got us started each day!
