Private and Quiet

Posted Jun. 22, 2024 on HomeAway
We were very excited to stay at this house and were not disappointed. There was plenty of information provided prior to and during our stay. Kitchen was well appointed with cookware, coffee station and spices. Beds were comfy and the gaming loft area was a nice touch. We spent most of our time using the outdoor amenities. We loved the pizza oven so much that we’re planning to buy one for our home.

Long Winter Weekend

Posted Feb. 19, 2024 on HomeAway
We loved our stay at the Driftland cabin! From the moment we booked our trip the host was very inviting and reached out via text message and also a few times during our stay. We fell in love with Timberline last year and were so happy to find a cabin located on the same road and in a gated community. The cabin was just the right size for us - 3 adults and 3 kids. Appreciated the games in the loft, board games and also the fire pit and hot tub were a hit. The gate at the top of the steps was an added bonus as we have an 18 month old. Kitchen was fully stocked with supplies and loved that I didn’t have to bring my own spices. Washer and dryer helped tremendously with our snow gear. Added bonus of linens and towels included and a travel crib/pack and play for our baby. We had such a memorable weekend and highly recommend Driftland cabin for your stay!

Great location, great house

Posted Feb. 19, 2024 on HomeAway
Driftland Cabin was perfect for a quick mid-week getaway to ski at Timberline. Exactly as advertised. Lots of sleeping space and beds were comfortable. There was snow and ice on the ground, so finding kindling and dry firewood from the pile in the driveway was a bit of a challenge, but we made it work. The common area and kitchen can get a bit tight as mentioned by other reviewers, but you can get creative.

Wonderful experience

Darien was an amazing and very responsive host. The property presented as advertised. It was a great place for kids with a large lot, hot tub and room to roam. We highly recommend for families.

Living space inadequate for number of people

Posted Aug. 28, 2023 on HomeAway
The cabin has sleeping space for 8-10. The bedrooms are adequate. However, the kitchen is tiny and it was difficult to cook or store the food that we brought. The gathering space had seating for 5. Thus, if you wanted to hang out together, there wasn't room for everyone. Finally, the cabin's description says there is a spiral staircase to a play room; not accurate. The spiral staircase is the only access to the second floor, where master bedroom is located. I would not have rented cabin had I known. Sprial staircases are dangerous and difficult to negotiate with a suitcase. Also, I found lighting inadequate. One could not sit in living space and read a book or look at a map.

We appreciate all feedback from our guests and regret that the kitchen and living room layout were not to the liking of this group, though the total number of people and pets in the group was higher than indicated in the reservation so that might have made the space more crowded than desired. To clarify, there is a loft with a gaming area at the top of the staircase on the second floor. We realize that what is expected in a game area may be subjective, but we are confident that a foosball table, video game, numerous board games and a TV qualify as a gaming area for most. Other guests have not had any issues with the spiral staircase, which has been approved by our insurance company for use in a vacation rental. We would recommend that guests with large suitcases leave those downstairs if they are uncomfortable bringing them up the staircase.

We had our family get together there for a long weekend in the mountains. It was absolutely perfect. Very clean. Very well-kept. Great location. They even provided a playpen in the one room. Highly recommend great communication with the property manager as well.

Restorative getaway

Posted Aug. 10, 2023 on HomeAway
Drift lane cabin was the perfect getaway for our family of 5. We had a very comfy bed in the master, the bunk beds were fantastic, and our teenager said the other bed was very comfortable too. It was so peaceful at the cabin with rocking chairs I enjoyed my morning coffee on and a fun hammock my kids enjoyed. The hot tub was awesome, too! So clean and easy to use. The little touches like coffee, tea, toilet paper, soaps, and paper towels that were provided made such a difference! We have rented many places before and don’t find that. Communicating with the owner was easy and he responded quickly. Drift lane cabin really was the perfect getaway for our family. It was calm and quiet at the cabin, yet an easy drive to Blackwater Falls and other places. We would definitely stay here again.
