We are sorry that you didn’t enjoy your stay in our cabin. This summer has been much warmer than our previous summers as I believe most people are aware. Canaan Valley typically stays much cooler and the temperature normally drops in the night where we can open the windows and enjoy the fresh air. Thankfully our cabin is more shaded and most guests have not had an issue getting the temperatures to a comfortable and enjoyable level. Our listing does state that it does not have a/c due to our location so this should not have been a surprise on check in. I have added 3 more tower cooling fans along with the previous fans that were already located in our cabin. We had our jacuzzi tub checked out and it seems to be working great. We just had a new shower head installed and I personally love that we have great water pressure and so have many of our previous guests. We do ask for our guests to start one load of laundry upon their departure to help our cleaning crew get the cabin prepared for the next guest. It has a lot of sheets that need to be washed and dried as well. We do not feel that this is much to ask and our guests in the past have been happy to help out. If any of our guests notice that detergent or another supply is missing, Black Bear has a 24 hour emergency number that can be called and the supplies would be brought to our cabin for our guests. I will speak with our hard working cleaning crew to make sure that all the cleaning supplies such as laundry detergent are in our cabin. Since owning our cabin in 2017 this would be a first time that the detergent was missing. We haven’t had any other complaints about our lower bedroom however we will assess it and add a dehumidifier if we feel it is muggy and damp. Our kids have slept down there in the summers and have enjoyed it. We do agree that we need a new couch again. Our sectional is just under 2 years old and as with many things these days, it is not holding up. We were aware that it had a couple places with small tears. I have been searching for a new couch to fit that space and will hopefully find a one soon that will last longer than the current one. We do feel our price is very reasonable for an entire cabin located in a very peaceful resort close to many outdoor activities. We love getting to share our cabin with other families and we do appreciate constructive feedback to help make our cabin even better for future guests. Laura

Thank you Alyson, I’m glad you enjoyed our location and that our cleaning crew has done a great job cleaning our cabin! That is great to hear. Our cabin’s loft is open to the downstairs and the downstairs bedroom is accessible by the spiral staircase which does not have a door so sound can travel. Sound machines are a great idea. My children are now older and it seems it would take an earthquake to wake them. However I remember the days of tip toeing around them doing everything we could to not wake them. I’m going to order a couple sound machines so future guests could use them for napping children. Thanks for the idea so we can help future guests.
