Lakeside Retreat Lake Lanier Book now for winter and spring!

Welcome to Dawsonville and one of North Georgia’s most intriguing locations, Lake Lanier. Here you will enjoy beautiful North Georgia mountains, vineyards, outlet shopping, hiking trails, etc. Only an hour north of Atlanta. This quaint studio cottage has all you need for a perfect getaway.
You will enjoy fully furnished nights with a plush king size bed, fully stocked chef’s kitchen, and a custom designed master bath with a stand-up shower and a beautiful air-bath tub. Comfortably heated floors are included for colder nights and a gas firepit table on the deck.. On warmer evenings you will enjoy sitting on the outdoor porch, overlooking the tranquil garden of evergreens or on the newly added side deck with views of Lake Lanier.(Please know that we are on the lake, but we do not have a dock.)
This will be a perfect alternative to a hotel stay for you while visiting Lake Lanier, North Georgia mountains, wineries, or Dahlonega. We live right around the corner on the lake with a two story dock complete with lounge chairs on top. We also have two kayaks and a paddle board that are available with access to the lake from our dock. You are more than welcome to hang out on our dock and fish/swim. I also have parking for a boat and you’re welcome to keep it at my dock while you are there. So many positive things to say about our stay. First and foremost, Donna is the ultimate hostess! She checked on us several times, and even stopped by to meet us. She contacted us prior to our arrival to find out what kind of snacks and drinks we like so that she could have them waiting for us. Not only were those items there, but she also had eggs, bacon, cheese, breakfast items, fresh fruit, and several types of sodas/teas/water for us to choose from already stocked in the fridge and freezer. The cabin was just as described and was perfect for our 2-person stay. We went for New Years, and it was still decorated for Christmas, which was an added touch of decor. When we arrived, lights were on, both TVs were on and tuned in to Fireplace Apps, candles were lit, and a personal note from Donna awaited us in the kitchen. My regret is that I can’t give her more than 5 stars. Book this location—you won’t regret it!

Host was the best! Very quick and helpful responses to our questions and requests. The rental was beautiful, comfortable and clean. We prepared breakfast every day and we found everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. The location was quiet and felt safe. There are many restaurants and beautiful mountain areas to explore close by. We hope to return for another visit soon.

The cabin is great! Donna, the host, was a perfect host. She left supplies in the kitchen for our stay. She asked me in advance what we like to drink. She had drinks and food waiting when we arrived at the cabin. Rooms were decorated for Christmas and clean. We were celebrating our anniversary and she had a card and sign over the bed wishing us a happy anniversary. She made us feel special and we will always have fond memories of our time spent at the cabin.

Mrs. Donna is the ultimate host. She went above and beyond to ensure my stay would be memorable. Specific food and beverage preferences were inquired of beforehand and were available when I arrived at the cabin. Detailed instructions for my arrival were sent a week early. She checked in during my drive there and gave extra directions due to me arriving at dark. The cabin was clean, cozy and decorated for Christmas - a Southern Living winter wonderland. Mrs. Donna has everything you would need, or possibly may forget. The kitchen is fully equipped, the fridge is full and freezer is stocked. The location of the cabin is quiet and peaceful, but only a short drive for groceries or a fun day of shopping. It’s the perfect place for a couple’s getaway, or even a treat to oneself.

Without a question Donna is the best host/owner my wife and I have ever had. The property is excellent for Two people but Donna adds something special to our normal experience. The house is fully stocked with just about anything you need, including some foods and snacks. And Donna was always available for any questions or concerns we had. We have never felt so welcomed as we did here. The host exceeded every need and want. The space was perfect - clean, warm decor ( loved the birds and words of encouragement!), comfortable bed, huge shower, fluffy towels, bathrobes and a better stocked fridge than i have at home. Our anniversary celebration was a smashing success. Donna communicated clearly and even let us visit her home's pier to fish. She is a #1 Host!! The location is close to anything you need - restaurants, groceries and great lake views. Highly recommend to anyone. We would love to return.

What a little gem! We enjoyed peace and quiet and had a lovely rest at the Lakeside Retreat. We were spoiled by our host Donna who is very caring and her place were fully stock with everything you need. What a beautiful little house! We just loved staying there. We were impressed with all the extra little touches that Donna went to that made our stay so memorable. And such a nice woodsy neighborhood with views down to the lake. We will definitely be looking for any excuse to come back

More than a ReTreat: A REAL TREAT!!

Our first impression, which was GREAT, lasted throughout our 2-day stay! If anything, it got GEATER, until the locking of the door, which closed out a wonder-filled, very personalized experience! The host was amazing, available for ANY need, (for which we had none, because this “little” cabin came with EVERYTHING, and more!) 3 B’s:the BED, the BATHROOM, and the BIRD-themed environ, was amazing! The kitchen was completely supplied and stocked! Our Wish is to return!

The reviews here are 100% correct. Every little detail is taken care of. The communication and ease of renting is just wonderful. I have been a member for many years and have never seen as many amenities or a better stocked kitchen and pantry. It was amazing.

Beautiful, Serene, Comfort-filled house and Gracious Owner

Donna went above and beyond to make sure our Anniversary Trip was special - she even had a Happy Anniversary banner over the bed. My eyes filled with tears as soon as I opened the door - it was perfect in every way. The placement of Christian wall art and small inspirational signs throughout the house affirmed that we were exactly where we needed to be to celebrate and reflect on 49 years of marriage. We laughed because my husband said “It looks like you decorated this house.”Her attention to details, generosity of providing snacks, beverages, and even breakfast items were such blessings. She checked on us every day to make sure we didn’t need anything. As for the property, pictures can’t adequately show how beautiful and unique this property is. We were surprised how quiet it was and spent a lot of time sitting on the porch or the side deck. This was the first trip we’ve taken for our anniversary that we were content just staying around the house; we did no sightseeing. Donna- there are no words adequate to describe our experience. You went over and above! We plan to return and will be telling our friends and family about our experience. Thanks you - Devon and Nannette

We spent a lot of time right here. Even with 100 degree plus heat index with the tree covering and light lake breeze it was very comfortable.
