Cozy and close to Deadwood
Publié le 18 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayMy partner and I stayed for a long weekend and it was a perfect cozy retreat. Hiking trails right outside the door but close enough to Deadwood for some fun nights out! We would definitely stay here again for our next trip

It was very nice meeting you both. We're happy you enjoyed the cabin. I also like the trail from the cabin that goes into the forest service and heads out to the meadow. Very quiet and peaceful. Hopefully one day I will get a chance to put benches along the trail to relax on.

Rustic Cabin - PERFECT!
Publié le 9 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis quiet, peaceful cabin is nestled in the woods of South Dakota's Deadwood area - we couldn't have been more happy with our stay. The owners/builders of this cabin live nearby, just through the woods, and are very accommodating and helpful. We hope to visit the Rustic Cabin again one day!

Karla, thank you so much. Even after the hot water heater had trouble you were kind enough to leave this 5* review. Bill was able to fix the leak, so the cabin was back in good shape. We appreciate your understanding!

Peaceful retreat

Everything We Wanted and More
Publié le 22 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis cabin is top drawer, both in location and quality. Everything inside and out is amazing. The details of construction are beautiful. The hosts are gracious and easy to communicate with. We saw wildlife without even leaving the deck, but it's also convenient to lots of attractions. Bed is comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed for food prep. On a side note, you don't need bottled water, the water from the tap is delicious!

Bill always appreciates when guests notice his workmanship in designing and building the cabin. Also, thank you for leaving bird seed! I think the deer and turkeys get most of the seed I leave in the feeders. It's nice watching the birds from the deck in the morning. Thank you for your review,

Short Weekend Getaway

Solo
Publié le 3 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis was my first solo trip, it only took me 61 years. I had everything I needed. The cabin and hosts were awesome. The hiking was right there and no noise except the birds. Great place for reading on the deck. Would definitely go back.

We're glad you enjoyed the cabin. I also like to hike the trail that leads to the meadow. It's quiet and peaceful, sometimes I'm lucky enough see the elk.

Don’t think twice about booking this

Lynn and Bill are excellent hosts, and their cabin is filled with all sorts of cute details that tie the place together making it feel more like a home than a rental. I booked the cabin for a girls trip with my bestie and we thoroughly enjoyed the property - great views, especially star gazing at night from the gazebo. It served as the perfect home base while we explored western SD. The cabin had everything we could have needed. Very thoughtful hosts - definitely looking to come back to the area at some point in the future and will seek out the rustic cabin for sure!! Thank you for having us!

Hi Angie, I recall that night you were at the gazebo. I could hear you two laughing while I was out walking my dog and I'm sorry I didn't come down to say, "hi".
I remember that night, it was very dark and the stars were beautiful. The Milky Way was awesome! Thank you for your review and hope to meet you next time:)
