Excellent House with Beautiful River Views

River views and sounds are tremendous!

End of Summer Vacation
Posted Sep. 7, 2024 on HomeAwayMy family of 4 and our 2 dogs had a wonderful time. We enjoyed fishing, swimming, and going into town. The house is beautiful and accommodating, but we spent the majority of the time outdoors and on the screen porch.

needs updating
Posted Sep. 3, 2024 on HomeAwayWe were first here in early 2023 and that visit was great. But our return visit this year was far from spectacular. First the ice maker wasn't working and on such 85 degree days it was much needed. The owner responded quickly and sent the cleaner over to fix,6 hrs later it still didn't work so the owner said go to a gas station miles away and buy a bag of ice.This was an inconvenience since we just came back from the supermarket. Next, we decided to do a load of laundry and discovered the washer didn't drain, leaving all our items soaking wet, we had to wring them out in the sink before putting in dryer. We wiped the floor in the kitchen and the paper towel came up filthy and black.
The screen in the br was hanging off, the decking material was old and weathered and the hot tub was dirty. All in all the visit was ok. we understand its a mountain cabin and some of this is expected. The screened in porch is great and the proximity to river can't be beat. beware, the driveway is very steep and narrow.

Cindy, I am sorry you encountered some issues during your stay. We were unaware that there was a problem with the ice maker, but that has now been fixed. Unfortunately, The washing machine did break during your stay, and we had it replaced with a new unit a few days later. Sorry for any inconvenience. I was unaware that a window screen was not secured properly. We will resolve that. As for any cleaning concerns, I will relay this to the cleaning company and request that they do a better job cleaning the floors. Please understand that we do work hard at keeping this property in good condition, so I apologize that your stay was less that excellent.

Serene & off the beaten path
Posted Sep. 1, 2024 on HomeAwayHome is as advertised! Complete serenity is here. Only natural sounds can be heard; just secadas & the Chattahoochee River located at the foot of the property. So appreciative of being able to bring my dog. Clean & pest free home in the middle of the woods. We strolled the property, enjoyed river views & relaxed in the hot tub.

Delightful Retreat at the "White Rapids Retreat"
Posted Aug. 17, 2024 on HomeAwayWe took my 90 year old mother-in-law on vacation to NE GA. I selected this property due to its location and being located on the bank of the Chattahoochee River. The "White Rapids Retreat" was a true serendipity. We couldn't get over how a delightful place this was. My husband and I usually camp in NE GA in our small 22 ft motorhome. This is the first time in many years that we have stayed somewhere other than a campground. What a delight this place is. The house is spectacular. The wood interior and the old-fashioned decorations were amazing. The master bedroom and the upstairs bedroom were very nice and comfortable. We liked being able to walk out on our own deck from our second-floor bedroom. My mother-in-law was in awe of her room, the master bedroom. We enjoyed sitting on the deck drinking our coffee each morning and looking out at the beautiful Chattahoochee River. The chairs next to the river were nice; and we used them daily in the afternoon after we returned from our daytrips. We met the owner Rob one afternoon, and he was very nice. I have nothing negative to say about the "White Rapids Retreat" as we loved it. we would love to go again. Thank you Rob.
