Wanted a quiet location near Denali and this was perfect. The cabin was cute and clean and about 20 minutes from the park. Don’t know how the owners arranged it, but the skies cleared up day 2 and we got an amazing view of the Big One (Denali). Had breakfast at Henry’s Coffeehouse on site and Jun was the cook. Very friendly and made an amazing cup of coffee! Would highly recommend!

Cabins on the tundra near Denali
Our second visit there. Be prepared for life in the tundra. Boardwalk to cabins. Floors in cabins are a little uneven. The puppy holding and petting was relaxed and not rushed. Cute little coffee shop on site.

Great place and wonderful back story
The facility is interesting and comfortable, but Jon, the owner, and his dogs are the real attraction. His story of homesteading and building on top of permafrost should be a book and movie. He is a very knowledgeable, modest, and engaging man. The location is very good for access to Denali Park and his sled dog information reinforces what you learn at the excellent Denali Park sled dog presentation at their kennel.

May be ok for you
We stayed in Cabin 13. It was clean and adequate. This particular cabin has a step down into the bathroom which is dangerous at night. For this reason, I cannot recommend it. I’m not sure if the other cabins have this situation.

A bit up the road from the entrance to Denali -but an easy and pretty drive. The queen cabins are particularly nice. We had a double but we’re complaining satisfied.
